LIBSON

The alley blended perfectly with the darkness. It seemed empty at first, but after a few seconds footsteps began to sound through it. A silhouette draped in a hooded cloak appeared, a stroller rolling in front. The shadow moved forward until a wall blocked continuation. The figure reached into a pocket in the hooded cloak taking out a grey card and placing it on the wall as had been done many times before. A few seconds passed before the wall opened revealing a closet filled with money.

The figure removed the hand from the wall, the card still attached to it, and moved a stack. Like clockwork, the closet quickly began to rearrange itself until all the money had disappeared and a tablet began to come out it. The figure lifted their gloved hand into the air, removing it, and placing the bare hand on the tablet. Lines began to move in all directions around it, scanning it until the whole screen became green and the tablet began to fall back into place. Putting the glove back onto the hand, the figure picked the card putting it back into their pocket, and placing the money on top of the tablet. The closet regressed into its initial arrangement closing before falling into the ground revealing a passage behind it.

The figure placed both hands on the stroller rolling it into the darkness. With every step taken, light enveloped the cave ahead, darkness behind until another wall appeared. This one however had a clear keypad on it. The figure opened it and typed in a 20-digit code, closing it after hearing a beep. The whole cave lighted as the figure walked forward revealing an opened elevator which the stroller was rolled into as the figure entered.

The elevator travelled underground taking the stroller, and its driver down with it. It opened shortly after revealing a man with a clear look of uncertainty on his face. When he saw the figure, he scowled gaining a smirk from the person behind the hood. The figure came out still rolling the stroller in front. As soon the elevator was empty, the figure reached into a pocket in the hood, taking out a tiny switch and pressing the first button gently. The elevator closed and the two stood in silence for a few seconds.

The man seemed to have had enough of it as he eyed the figure gruffly. "Are you him?" He questioned. The surrounding was still dark, and it seemed that he couldn't see who was in front of him. The figure pressed the second button as their surroundings began to light up a little.

"I prefer her, if you don't mind." A voice sounded as the figure removed the hood. A woman, looking not much older than 25 was revealed. She wore a smile as she spoke looking directly at the man. "Didn't any one ever teach you not to assume?" The man remained silent quickly recovering from his shock.

"Did you bring it?" The woman questioned all signs of amusement disappearing from her face. The man looked hesitant to answer, standing still for a few second before giving an almost invisible nod.

"Yes," he replied. The woman hummed in interest seemingly enjoying his discomfort. She looked at the man in expectation as he sighed looking at the stroller before picking up a large bag. The woman assessed it unsurely causing as the man to speak.

"Its all in there." The woman, hearing this chuckled lightly.

"I know it is," she responded sweetly before her eyes darkened. "Because if it isn't, I will come for you, and everyone you ever loved." The man nodded passing her the bag. After receiving it, the woman rolled the stroller in his direction giving him. He looked at her doubtfully opening the stroller.

"Congratulations," the woman announced. "It's a girl." The man looked inside the stroller, and there was indeed a baby girl inside.

"What's her name?" The man questioned, unable to take his eyes off the girl. The woman analyzed him. All hesitation had left his face as he looked at the baby in the stroller, happiness filling his eyes. He seems happy, she thought, but then again, they always did.

"She doesn't have one yet. I expect you to give her one; a good one, and a good life." Finally looking up, the man tried to find to find the words, but he couldn't. The woman seemed to understand this as she placed her hood back on her head, turning to leave the same way she came.

One last thing, she called. "If you ever, and I mean ever hurt her; physically or mentally, I will find you," she warned, the ending statement not louder than a whisper. "Goodbye Roger."

And with that, she picked up the bag and walked away till not even her footsteps could be heard. The man waited a few seconds, till he was sure that she was gone before looking at the baby sleeping soundly inside the stroller. He smiled reaching into it, and kissing her forehead.
