LIBERIA is like a girl who's been gang raped by her 16 brothers,I still remember that night
When she lost her glory to her family as her honour was strip off like clothes flying to the floor,
Tears ache, they pounds in too deep
Disrupting the peace she had in her soul,
Squeezing Infrastructure out of her by then young breast her screams echo,
Stain to her body that refuses to be remove and clean. It all started 1847 on a warm morning
Not like this, it wasn't raining
But like the tape
Her life play it.You see,
Liberia has survived abuse and hunger.
Have survived the twist and turns of power,She has the survived the bad laws, mess up education system and poverty,
You see
They broke through her resources and one after the other they took a swipe and clean her teeth out her mouth
They brought her war,
Hurt more her daughters solemnized her sons as if it was not enough, they made her grand children child soldiers and ask them to kill their uncles and aunts
As again it wasn't enough, they broke through her banks, burn down her homes and made her people hopeless and homeless. So let me bring you back
To now...
Now that we all bares the penalties,
And struggling to make amendsNow that our country is hunted from the lack of morals,
Illiteracy,
Now that we take a step backwards every minute and a hit rock bottom every hour,Now that change is no more in our dictionaries and our country is hunted from all the wrong we have done,
Killing one another
Raping our mothers
And taking children out of their mother stomach,So yea, this is what we have as a country,
Wait what was we expecting,
To reap apple out of plum,
Or to get cement out of mudWho are we fooling of not knowing what's wrong
When we always made bad choices but wishes for good results,We are our own problem,
We throw dirt in our streets,
Drive our cars on the side walk,
Insult in front of our children,
Take money from students or even sleep with them, children capable of being our own children,
We cheat in our market places,
And give jobs to people who can not get the work done,We use to look for competence but now we look for connections and we sit here looking for who to blame?
But today is July 26
A day that is set aside for us to retrospect, to change our minds, make amends, have a turn on the tables and make some good out of the time we have left. You see
Thousands of people have lay down their life’s for this day,
So it's on to us now to undo those things, make good choices, look for the good in people, hit the on button and strive in that their sacrifices not be in vain..
Let us work as to make the most of the part for which they lay down their life.People talk about our country and here’s what they say,
They say Liberia is a violent country,
It's a elephant meat
Every one can take and leave
They say it's a land of stupid people
Bore by a rape mother
It's a lawless country
The books doesn't matters to them
Beside they're not truthful with one another,
The people I full with so much hate and anger
They bad mouth one another and pull down their brothers who try to go up,
So cheating is the order of days
And corruption run the affairs,The older ones only care about themselves and forget their children,
The next generation is not on their agenda so they make laws that affects them only,
Or refuse to sign the ones that isn't in their favour,But the thing is, they are not even wrong,
We are where we are because of ourselves,
Because We are mean
And we pretend to love others when we only love ourselves,
Because instead of raising the next generation, we are
Breaking the remaining foundation
And creating more mess,
Mess that will mess this country up for good. But let this day serve as a turn around,
Let it serve as a day we polish, reprint and dust up the good that is left,
Let it remind us, not of ourselves only but of others,
To the once in positions,
Let not these positions you own positions you, but live their bands and make Liberia a safe, loving and peaceful place,
Let the light of our world
make us more hopeful,And on this day let's remember the past, live the present and prepare the for future.
Because even if we are no more
We really aren't because no matter what,
there will always be a presentation of us here.
The next generation,
Your children
My children
Our children.Let's lift Liberia
Choices
