Chapter one.

A new school.New people.New teachers.New friends.New life.Fresh start.Sounds fun?So not.

'Ly it's gonna be fine, we've talked about this plenty of times' My twin brother,Cole, said.He had obviously noticed my anxious expression.

'Yeh yeh,whatever' I replied looking out of the window.

My brother and I moved to New Jersey at the beginning of the summer,why you might ask? Because we needed a fresh start in a different city.We had trouble back home in California with our family and friends.I lost all of my friends because I didn't want to do drugs.They were petty friends anyways,who needs them?And as for Cole, his friends were put in jail.Cole was close to be put in but thankfully he got away since he had done nothing wrong.

Anyways, for our family problems.Our dad had become an alcoholic and would come home every night to abuse us,verbally and physically.You may be wondering right now 'what about your mom?What happened to her?' Well as for her she died a year ago.That's partly the reason my dad become an alcoholic.The other reasons?We don't know.All we know is he become an alcoholic partly because of our mom,but there was other reasons as to why.

'Come on then' Cole said,snapping me out of my thoughts.I huffed angrily as I got out of the car,putting my bag over my shoulders.
'I'll be here waiting for you after school,okay?' He said 'Your gonna be fine trust me' he looked at me sympathetically.He waved me goodbye as we both walked into the huge school.

-Later on that day-

I walked over to my locker and put in the code,unlocking it and placing my books inside.The day was finally over and somehow,I survived it.Go me.

A crash was heard behind me,startling me slightly.I turned around and noticed a boy pushing another boy over onto the floor, knocking over trash cans as he fell.

I looked towards the boy who had pushed him over and recognised him instantly.He was in my Bio and Math class if I remember correctly.

'His names Ethan Dolan.Hottest guy in our school by far' A voice spoke behind me 'Oh sorry,did I scare you?' She had soft brunette hair which was shoulder length and hazel eyes.

'Oh no it's fine,you didn't' I replied.
'I'm Melody by the way,Melody Gills'
'I'm Lyla Meadows' I said smiling.I looked over to the gang of boys who were still picking on the other boy.

I walked over to them confidently,ditching Melody,and helped the other boy up.
'And what do you think your doing' a deep voice said.
'Helping him up,what's it look like?' I replied giving Ethan a death stare.
'Why don't you do us all a favour and fuck off?' He spat.
'Why don't you get your head out of your ass and not pick on others?' I said folding my arms across my chest.The boys around him started to ohhhh and laugh hysterically.
'Watch your mouth or me and you are gonna have a problem' He stepped closer towards me,towering over me.
'Alright leave her alone' A voice said,I looked over Ethan's  shoulder and noticed my brother.
'Oh hey bro' I said smiling at him.
'Hey.We better get going' He said,giving Ethan a stern looking and walking off.

I helped the boy on the floor up quickly and ran off to catch up with my brother.I hopped in the passenger side and flung my bag into the backseat.My mind suddenly wondered off else where.

Why was he so heartless?
Me and Ethan Dolan are going to have a lot of trouble together.I can tell.
