Ocean

The ocean's waves come to tie me down.

The sea tide is all gone by now.

A salty smell is prominent,

but my feet are on the concrete ground.

I don't understand, how did I change?

How did I come?

How do I go?

The ocean is dark,

the fish are all with sorrow,

the sun's rays are now hollow.

I feel like the fish, with the desire to walk on sand;

I swim and I swim but I never seem to get to land.

The ocean has put weight on my shoulders,

Making me sink into the deep,

where it is easier to just give in.

But I fight for the surface,

I have to survive.

I must stay alive.
