Chapter 7: Rooftop Talk (Agent 4)

I found Callie pretty easily after Marie called me. I caught her going up the stairs of an office building. There'd be no reason to go there other than to get on the roof. And that's exactly where she was.

"Hey, Callie," I said casually.

She was sitting on the edge of the building, and she whipped her head around to look at me.

"Agent 4?" she questioned. "What are you doing here?"

"Just wanted to talk," I answered.

"About what?" she asked. "Me being a criminal?"

"You know you're not a criminal," I said. "Plus, I defended you in those comments."

"Yeah, I saw," Callie said.

"I passed Ammo Knights earlier and Sheldon told me about the whole break up the band thing," I said.

"I hate her," Callie said coldly.

"You don't mean that," I said.

"I do. She ruined my life."

"Well, she wants to make it up to you."

"Sure she does."

"I'm serious. Sheldon told me that they figured out how to get rid of Marie's brainwashing, so there's no more of that."

"That post wasn't brainwashing."

"Come on, you know that Marie loves you. She would never do that to you willingly."

"That's what I used to think."

"Trust me, Marie's going to make it up to you. Just be in the square at one tomorrow."

"What? The square?"

"Please, Callie. If not for Marie, do it for me. I did kind of save your life after all."

And with that, I left the roof and walked out of the building. I headed straight for the plaza as Pearl and Marina were setting up a stage.

"You guys got a stage for this?" I asked.

"You didn't know? Marie has a whole plan!" Marina exclaimed.

"Well, I know about the plan. I just spread the word to Callie."

Marina gasped. "You found Callie?!"

"Yep, and I told her to be here tomorrow, Marie's instructions."

"Oh, this is going to be great. I just hope it works."
