PROLOGUE-

It was a sunny, hot, Sunday in July. Kaylee and her boyfriend Blake of 2 years always spent Sundays with each other since they became a couple. They considered it a tradition in a way.

Blake usually came to Kaylee's house at exactly 3:15pm every Sunday. Except this one. It was almost 6:00pm, and no Blake had arrived. Kaylee tried calling and texting what seemed like a million times, and she got no answer.

She hadn't spent time with him for 3 days, but even then they atleast spoke on the phone, and text each other all night. Kaylee took a deep breath as she paced her living room. "Hey it's Blake, leave a message." His voicemail repeated to her. She hung up her phone, and grabbed her car keys.

Kaylee had a gut feeling that something wasn't right. She opened up the front door and ran past her mom who was sitting in the porch enjoying the fresh air.

"Where are you rushing off to?" She asked, concerned. "Don't worry about it." Kaylee

said slipping into her car. It came out rudely although those weren't her intentions.

Once she got her car started up she sped down the street. Most likely going over the allowed speed limit, but at this point she didn't care.

Kaylee parked her car in front of Blake's house. His car, and his father's car weren't parked in the front. Kaylee quickly got out of her car and scurried onto Blake's porch. None of the porch decorations were there.

She continuously knocked on the door. No answer. She looked through the dusty window panes into the house to reveal nothing. Literally nothing. The house was empty. Cleared out.

Kaylee's jaw dropped. She tried to call Blake again. Still no response. Was this really happening to her? She slowly walked off the porch until a white envelope in the only flower pot left on his porch caught her eye.

She picked it out. It said 'Lee' on it, in Blake's hand writing. She refrained from opening it until she got home. "Kaylee honey? What's wrong?" Her mother asked, once she saw Kaylee run past her tears building up in her eyes.

"Nothing, okay!" She shouted as she ran up the stairs and locked herself in her room. She stared at the envelope for a few moments, debating if she should open it or not. Wondering if whatever Blake had written inside would hurt her more than the empty house.

But Kaylee needed answers, and she was hoping that her questions, answers were in the envelope.

"Kaylee, if you are reading this, then you showed up at my house looking for me and found this instead of me. Well I just wanted to tell you to forget about me, go to college and make something great out of yourself, It was fun while it lasted. -Blake"

Kaylee felt her heart literally break in two. This was his horrible way of breaking up with her? How did Blake just expect her to forget about him? The year of memories they shared when Blake was just a player, and Kaylee was just the pretty girl with long brown hair in his biology class. And the two years of memories they shared as a couple.

She didn't know about other people, but she found it impossible to even think of forgetting about the person she fell in love with throughout the three years they had known each other.

Kaylee re-read the brief letter Blake had written her, and started crying. What did she do so wrong for him to just up and leave her, and his entire life in Brenton Valley behind? She had no answers. She took out her pain and frustration by screaming and crying into her pillow. She felt like she was only dreaming, but it was reality.

At this very point, she didn't feel like doing anything if she didn't have Blake right beside her. He was all she ever thought about, her perfect guy. Now he was gone.
