~AUTHOR'S NOTE~
Okay so I've never been good at introductions so I'm not going to do one! Cool? Okay.--------------
"Mom, I am NOT wearing this! It looks ridiculous. Everyone at school will make fun of me." I argued.
Some how some way, my mom thinks she can make me wear this weird dress with this weird ribbon in my hair. Some people would think 'Well what's wrong with wearing a dress?' and all, but that's because they wear dresses everyday. But trust me with this, if you saw this dress, you would want to vomit too.
It's baby pink, sky blue, and barf green. The ends of the sleeves only go halfway down my shoulders. So, it's like, a half tank-top, half T-shirt kind of deal. Also, the ends of the sleeves are ruffled like you'd see a three year old wearing. The bottom of the dress goes down to my ankles so you see my problem.
We've been arguing for about thirty minutes now, debating if I get to wear the fabulous dress or not.
"I just don't get why you don't like it." Mom said, "Its not that bad."
"Not that bad? Not that bad?! You say that about everything Mom! This, is horrible!" I complained.
"Fine. I give up, wear whatever you like." said Mom, finally giving in.
"Yes!" Victory is at last mine!
I picked out a flannel and jeans-my normal school wear. A few minutes later my Mom called me down to the kitchen. She says she has very important news for me.
In her hands she was holding a letter. At first I thought it was just another letter from grandma. This was not the case though. The letter had a blue stamp on the seal with a large 'BW' on it. It looked like it had been ran over by a car at least three times. I wonder what it went through before it arrived here, at my house, in my Mom's hands.
"What's that?" I asked.
She hesitated, looking a little bit stressed and a little bit concerned. Whatever this letter was, it was obviously very important. I was scared what her response would be.
.
"I need to tell you something, something that... well you probably won't even think is true." she said, avoiding eye contact."What is it...?" I said very uncertain.
"So... um.. well... how do I put this." She took a deep breath. "You aren't a normal average kid. You're, different. Erm, how do I put this... Amanda you're a, a, a wizard
I laughed so hard I think some of my breakfast shot out of my nose. My Mom wasn't laughing though. Was she really serious? Wizards aren't real. They're just fairy tales, like Harry Potter, everyone knows they're not real. Rather just made up stories... Right?
This is chapter one! I hope you enjoyed! I know it's not perfect or the best but I'm still a beginner! If you could please go check out my other story The Awakening that would be enormously appreciated! Feedback is great!

HELLO READERS! This is a story I wrote about 5 years ago now when i was like 11? I think I was in the 6th grade. I am now well into high school and occasionally look back at this silly little story I made just for fun as a kid. This story was received very well, surprisingly. I wrote this with my elementary school knowledge, after all. ANYWAYS, I was thinking if anyone would be interested in reading if I were to rework the story? The same idea for the story, but obviously much better now that it's been 5 years. If you are interested in reading something like that leave me a comment saying so! Thanks for reading!
