whats going on? Ch. 8

CHASE POV

The next day I couldn't pay attention during class and that is unlike me, but I couldn't help but replay what happened last night in my head. I recorded the conversation that Mr. Davenport had with Kaylnn but we were all confused what it meant. I decided when I get home I was going to replay it a few times and see if I can get anything out of it.
Also what plagued my mind was that Kaylnn knew about me - I mean us being Bionic she never even showed a hint about it either. I was wanting to talk to her about.
Soon after class Kaylnn comes up to me, "Hey are you doing ok? You seem kinda distracted?" She asks laying a hand on my arm.
I look at her concerned face and reply "Yah I'm fine was just thinking about..." I trail off not really knowing what to call what happened last night.
"Last night?" She asks me. I nod, "Well you need to forget about it, it's nothing to do with you. It's over and done with and hopefully won't happen again." She snaps at me her mood suddenly. "I dont want you -" she stops herself from saying the rest of her sentence. She straightened up and with that she walks away, in her own thoughts but I could tell she was nervous.

KAYLNNS POV

During class I noticed Chase wasn't as in to learning stuff as he usually was and seemed to be thinking about something else. I knew what it was at least I had an idea. I know last night he was one of the ones who listened into the story I told Mr. Davenport. I also bet knowing Chase he recorded it and put it somewhere.
During lunch I told the demigods about Chase trying to find out our secret, of course in Greek. Annabeth told me what I was already planning on doing and try to discourage him about it. I rolled my eyes and told her I wasn't as dumb as Percy and was going to do that anyways. I didnt want him getting hurt, gods know what would happen if they found out. I didnt want to take that risk.
Once the last class was over I went up to Chase "hey are you ok? You seem kinda distracted?" I asked him laying a hand on his arm hoping to calm him down some.
He looked at my concerned face his brown eyes locking into my green ones I almost melted but I had to get this over. "Yah I'm fine was just thinking about..." he trailed off.
I knew what his answer was but I still wanted him to say no "last night?" I ask him. He nods and I feel myself stiffen, my suspicions were right but I needed to discourage him to find out who we were so I said to him. "Well you need to forget about it, it's nothing to do with you. It's over and done with and hopefully won't happen again." I snapped at him I instantly regretted it and started to tell him "I just dont want you-" I stop myself I knew this would only provoke him more. Danger. The word that holds the most truth in a demigods life. You never knew what danger would await you and as life goes on it seems to just get more dangerous.
After a while I felt really bad about what I said to Chase he deserves more but I can't and I won't. That sounds so mean but I wont put him in danger or any of the bionics. Us demigods have full lives but I wanted the bionics to live as normally as they could.

BACK TO CHASE

As soon as I got home I went down stairs and played the recording.

MR DAVENPORT: So what really happened? Um I already know of your 'parentage' but I'm the only one in the house that knows not even Tasha.
KAYLNN: It was about two years ago the nightmares are becoming less and less but they usually sleep by each other in case they need to comfort the other, but the flashbacks are becoming not as bad and they have told us little but enough to know how much pain and suffering they went through.
*KAYLNN PAUSED* well to make it short they fell into The Pit the place where only 3 of our kind have been and they all were near the same time. Even our parents don't even think about going down there. Hell that is what it is they are 2/3 that went through it. They were lucky enough to find some friends along the way Damenson healed Percy after The Curses and ...Bob helped protect them"
*ANOTHER PAUSE VOICE IS TINY BIT HIGHER AS SHE JUST SMILED* Small Bob I guess gave them hope. He was a kitten that Percy had met once before but didn't even think much about them. Anyways right at the exit where they were going to escape the Pit took form and stood in their way they fought but obviously it was no use for he also had tons of his 'kin' behind him to help but then Damenson came riding in on his curse towards his father and battled him Bob stood by the doors and took Percy and Annabeth up to the living world. But we know what happened to iapet... I mean Bob and Damenson and they told Percy and Annabeth one last thing before they were held captive there most likely forever Bob wanted them to say hello to his granddaughter *ANOTHER PAUSE* And Damenson wanted to say hi to my 'gassy' uncle
* KAYLNN GIGGLED*
MR DAVENPORT: "Uhhhh.... ummmm.... should you be talking like that about your... um... uncle?"
KAYLNN: What no!.. it's fine his twin also agrees besides he loves me, I even drove his chariot and unlike Thalia he said I could drive again if I wanted.

I was still confused about what this meant I played it through agian and agian still nothing. But I did realize something they used Uncle a lot and I guessed they had a big family.

I was about to rewind it again when bree came down and told that supper was ready also that people were looking for me.
