Chapter 4

I suddenly woke up with sweat beading down my neck. The sweat felt disgusting as it covered my body and clothes.

I took a double take and noticed what was around me. The room had a very strict color scheme of black, green, and gold. The bed was a canopy with a gold frame. The sheets very green and made of silk. But it felt softer and smoother then silk somehow. I was tucked inside those covers. To the left was a balcony. And in front of me was Loki.

"Are you sick?" He asked as he examined my sweat covered body.

I tried to hold back the laugh that was about to come out of my mouth, but it didn't work. Then the thought came clear to me. And I took the back of my hand and placed it on my forehead. No fever.

"No," I answered his question.

Then the worse feeling overtook me. I remembered the feeling of being hurled through space. It was all black, but as we accelerated to wherever, it looked like a light show. You could hardly see the stars...

"Why are you so wet, Astrid?" He asked. Everything I had just thought of had left my mind.

I put my head in my hands trying to remember everything. I could care less what he thought. Everything seemed dizzy and I had no idea what had happened.

I was terrifyed that's all. Nothing was wrong with me. Suddenly an image of a hand wrapped around my waist appeared. Again I saw the crazy "light show". Blood rushed to my cheeks and face, making me sweat more. Ah. That explains it. I thought.

"You never answered my question," I said. Him saying my name made me uneasy. He didn't know me, or did he.

"I don't have to answer your question."

"I have a right to know."

He got up and walked over towards me. Each stride he took, made me sweat more and more. That explains even most of it. He sat down on the bed. I refused to look at him.

"Maybe you have a right in Midgard, but not here. Do you understand?" He whispered vilantly into my ear. It sent as shiver down my spine. Perfect. That's just what I need.

"What? What is 'Midgard'?"

Suddenly I felt a hand grab my jaw. The hand then forced me to look at the person it belonged to. I could tell he was not putting much force on my jaw to make it move. The only thing that scared me more was the fact he was a lot stronger then I expected.

I became curious as to what had happened to him after he left Earth. It had been five years since he was on Earth. Loki must have gotten stronger.

"Do you understand?" He asked me again with more force. He sounded like a parent scolding a child.

I managed to huff out, "Yes."
