It'd been two weeks since the incident with Jay and everything was back to normal much to Kayla's satisfaction.

She still wondered why he'd acted up that way but left things as they were because that's how they were

It was an unspoken agreement

They'd talk about it when Jay was ready to talk about it.

She sighed heavily as she walked through the hallway to the cafeteria.

It was lunchtime

And Kayla loved her some food

Some good food.

She had already texted Thellie to get her food for her because she'd skipped breakfast no thanks to her alarm which she'd forgotten to reset the night before and there was no way she was waiting in line.

She was starving.

She got to her locker and put away the heavy textbooks she'd had to carry to Maths class.

They didn't even use them.

She slammed her locker shut and had been so occupied glaring at the unfortunate textbook that she'd nearly jumped out her own skin when she turned and was met with electrifying green emerald eyes

Jay

She rolled her eyes and bit her bottom lip to suppress the smile that was threatening to creep up her face in acknowledgement of the boy who stood in front of her.

"You don't just sneak up on people like that ",she exclaimed dramatically as  she punched playfully him

Playfully

" Ouch!,that hurt ",he blurted out frowning and clutching his stomach where she'd not so playfully punched

Not that it made any difference

Jay was made of steel

Literally

Kayla just brushed passed him chuckling darkly.

She watched from the corner of her eyes as Jay fell into step by her side typing away on her phone

Then something crawled it's way  into her mind

"Aren't you supposed to be somewhere ?",she asked referring to the fact that the entire football and basketball team were supposed to be in the gym having lunch and a pep talk at the same time

Jay just looked at her like she was dumb

"Gym,ring any bells ?",she blurted out matching his dumb look.

"Oh that ",he just stated simply and continued to walk completely shrugging off the fact that he could get into trouble for skipping the pep talk with the Principal.

"Jay!",she whined

She really didn't know why she bothered with him

He was such an ass

" I took a pass and apparently you have my prescriptions",he supplied an explanation, winking

Wouldn't be the first time

Jay bad used that excuse for like forever now.She wondered why they still bought it

Crappy liar

She just rolled her eyes at him and just took out a candy bar from her purse and handed it to Jay who had already outstretched his hands, waiting

So much for a prescription.
