Jeanette blinked when she saw him coming down the hall. "Where are you going, Malcolm?"
"To see Marceline Anne."
"No! You need to be separated until the ceremony."
"We're getting married at a temple in town. We're going to be there at the same time."
"Move it, mister!" Jeanette pointed down the hall towards his room.
"Mom,-!"
"Move it!"
He groaned and whirled around to stomp off down the hall.
She shook her head and continued to Marceline Anne's room. She awakened the expecting teen. "It's time to wake up, sweetie."
Marceline Anne fought back.
Jeanette was not expecting that. "Marceline Anne?!"
Marceline Anne's eyes popped open, scaring Jeanette to death.
The older woman barely kept herself from screaming. "Marceline Anne?"
Marceline Anne blinked before frowning. "Huh? Mrs. Chang?"
"You sleep so strangely, dear." Jeanette caught her breath.
"So I've heard." Marceline Anne sat up, rubbing her eyes.
"It's your wedding day!"
Marceline Anne stared at her without blinking.
It frankly creeped Jeanette out. "Aren't you happy?"
"I don't really do happiness."
"What does that even mean?"
"It's not my thing."
It's too early for this... Jeanette blinked. "Well it's time to get up. Unless you're backing out?"
"I gave my word."
Jeanette approved but she wanted to make sure Marceline Anne didn't wake up with regrets years down the line. "But do you want to get married?"
"That's classified."
"Classified?"
"Classified." Marceline Anne nodded.
"You're going to have Malcolm on his toes. Aren't you?"
"Nothing worth having is easy." She lifted a shoulder.
"Is that your way of saying you're difficult?"
Marcy winked and clicked her tongue.
"You sure don't give out easy answers."
"Never admit to anything."
"Who taught you that?!"
"Granddad."
It sounded like something Po would say. "We're running behind schedule."
"Don't we need Mercy, Karen and Maddie?"
"I like the name Maddie. It sounds brighter."
Marceline Anne shrugged.
"I'll go get them. You go to the bathroom and brush your teeth."
Marceline Anne nodded.
M-
"What time are we getting started?" Chase yawned.
"The ceremony's not until one." Malcolm yawned, too. "It won't take me anything to get ready."
