Enjoy! (:
"Luke! Get up your gonna be late for the pep rally!" My mother yelled from the doorway of my bedroom.
I quickly sprang out of bed and ran to my closet. I rummaged around for my uniform, which consisted of my school's band shirt and some black gyms shorts we were given at the beginning of the school year.
Mother just walked out with a smirk and I could hear her feet pound downstairs.
I finally found my uniform under a board game I hide in the corner of the closet, long story, and don't as why the uniform was there in the first place.
I was so pumped for the pep rally, it was home coming week, so everyone was fluttering with excitement. I for one was most excited about getting to finally play with the upper class-men in the school band.
Slinging my book bag over my shoulder, I trotted down the stairs to find out what my mother cooked for breakfast.
"Well, someone is unusually happy this morning." My mother said as she handed me a plate of burnt bacon and fried eggs.
I reached for the bacon. "Duh! You know us Juniors now get to play with the Senior Band! You and I both know how big that is! The Senior band is LEGENDARY!" I mumble as I stuff my face with bacon.
She simply smiled and held out a glass of orange juice. "Better wash down all that greasy bacon with some healthy vitamin C!"
I tried to wave it off but she pushed the glass in my face. "Come on Luke, your 16 now, almost 17, why cant you get over the so called bad taste of orange juice? Its good for your body for goodness sake!"
I reluctantly snatched the glass from her hand, and I took tiny sips as I shoveled some eggs on my spoon. My mother stood at the sink washing dishes as I finished up my breakfast.
I pulled out the phone and pressed the lock button, it sparked to life. I checked the time.
7:52 AM
School started in eight minutes. "Crap! Im gonna be late!" I yelled to my mom as I ran to the bathroom to brush my teeth. I hurriedly packed the rest of my things and gave my mom a hug.
"Gotta go! I will take the bike, you can have the car today." I said as I ran out the back door.
"Love you honey! Have fun at the pep rally!" She called out to me as I retrieved the bike from the garage.
I hopped on and peddled out of the driveway. Waving to my mom as I sped off towards school.
