Princess Nadira bano begam was a mughal princess by birth.She was the daughter of prince Parvez who was the second son of emperor Jahangir and empress Sahib-e-Jamal(one of the favourite wives of Jahangir).Her mother was the daughter of prince murad(second son of emperor Akbar).
She was married to prince Dara shikoh who was the eldest son of emperor Shah jahan and empress mumtaz mahal and also the crown prince during his reign.
She was said to be an extremely beautiful woman,not in any way less in beauty than her mother-in-law,empress mumtaz mahal.Prince Dara shikoh was completely devoted to her,so much that he never took any other wife apart feom her,although he had two other cocubines but he kept them only for their protection.
She was an extremely powerful lady in her husband's household and was the only lady after princess Jahanara begam to issue farmans.
She bore her husband seven children but only 3 of them survived upto adulthood.
She led a fairytale life with her husband until the war of succession broke out among the sons of emperor shahjahan during which she loat her life due to dysentry.Her death had deeply impacted the crown-prince Dara Shikoh.
