*Troye's POV*

I woke up to bright, filtered sunlight shining directly into my face, groaning inwardly as a tossed the blankets back over my head. In no way was I ready to get out of bed. Ever. "Troye, mom has called you 4 times, get your sleepy ass downstairs!" Rolling over, I commenced my fake snore, which I've mastered over years of being lazy as shit, in a desperate attempt to fool Sage into thinking I was still asleep. I only realized how bad of an idea that was when she tore the blankets and sheets from my bed, letting the cold morning air create little goose bumps all over my body. "And put on some clothes." She spat, before storming out of the room, leaving me shivering and angry. Glaring at the clock, I read 2:00 pm. Way to go Troye, I think that's a new record. 5 minutes later, I half stumbled half fell down the stairs to see a breakfast of bacon and eggs sitting on the table. I sit, and immediately begin shoveling mouthfuls of food into my mouth.
"Hey Troye,"
"Yeah?"
"Why're you such a pig."
It was more of a statement rather than a question, but I just glared at Sage and continued bulldozing food into mouth. I was done eating before anyone else's food had even gotten to the table. Excusing myself, I flew back up the stairs, leaving my plate on the table. "Troye," oh my god, just let me rest in peace, "get down here for a quick sec please." I sighed dramatically, before turning, and stomping purposely loud, all the way back down the stairs. "Yeah?" I sighed. "I just wanted to make sure you were all packed." Shit. I completely forgot I was leaving for Thailand this evening! I don't even know why I'm excited. It's not like I had a choice, I mean every single year my family sends me off on a Rustic Pathway so I can 'have life changing experiences' and 'meet new people' and all that crap. "Why did I have to come all the way back down the stairs? Couldn't you have jus-" "don't talk back to your mother Troye!" Shaun practically screamed from the next room over. Maybe getting away for a while wouldn't be that bad. Making my way all the way back up the stairs, I proceeded to go down my packing list to make sure I had everything.
Clothes - check
Toiletries - check
Camera - check
Random junk I don't even need - check.
Why do I have to go? Why can't the send Tyde, or Sage, or just anyone who wasn't me? I remember one specifically horrific trip, backpacking in some stupid country I don't even remember the name of, the only person who I even remotely liked got malaria on the third day. Who the hell would pay to do something like that? In my opinion, you could spend your time actually having fun blogging, or eating, or I dunno, not catching freaking malaria. Ew. approximately 12 hours later, at 2 in the morning, I was stumbling around the airport trying to navigate which direction my flight was in, although at that point I was so tired I could really tell up from down. I wonder what Thailand is like. I heard the have spiders the size of your head. No way in hell am I ever doing anything like this again. "Oomph," I can't believe I'm such an idiot! I glance up nervously, my eyes slowly trailing up their neck, before making eye contact. "Wow, this person has gorgeous eyes..." I didn't even notice I was staring, before he quirked his eyebrow questioningly. "'Sceuse me...?" My brain was racing, before I realized I had been thinking out load just moments ago. Oh my god Troye, smooth, just go ahead and body slam some random stranger, then compliment their eyes. "S-sorry" I stuttered, inwardly cringing at the fact that I can't say one word without completely embarrassing myself. "No... no problem." He breathed out, with a cute lopsided smile. We were lost in each others eyes for why seemed like eternity (and I wasn't complaining), but was really only seconds. "Oh umm right," he laughed, "Korey." I reached out, delicately taking his outstretched hand.
"...Korey." I repeated, still in awe that someone could be that gorgeous.
"And you are...?"
"Right! Umm, Troye! With an E. T-r-o-y-e. Troye."
I'm such a loser.
"So where ya headed to Troye with an E?"
"Thailand."
"Oh, duh. I should have figured since you're kind of standing in the Thailand gate. I'm headed to Thailand too, on a Rustic Pathway adventure."
I was cut off before I could reply, by the load speaker announcing the final boarding call. We managed to switch around with the other passengers, so that in the end we were sitting next to each other. Maybe this trip won't be so bad after all.
