Marceline Anne unlocked the door and stepped inside. "Thanks."
"No problem." Malcolm kissed her.
She smiled against his lips. "Go home."
"You're my home."
She blushed prettily. "I'm sure your mom wants to see you."
"No, she doesn't."
"I would."
He grinned before kissing her again. "I'll call you tonight. See you tomorrow?"
"Yeah. I'll be waiting." She wiggled her fingers.
He walked backwards to the taxi before getting in. The driver pulled off so she shut the door.
She took her things upstairs before going to knock on her sister's door. "Mercy?"
Mercedes Catherine threw open her door and screamed. "You're home!"
"Yeah." Marceline Anne chuckled.
Mercedes Catherine hugged her tightly. "I missed you so much!"
"I missed you, too." Marceline Anne turned when Marcus Donald's bedroom door opened.
His eyes widened in surprise and he shuffled over quickly to hug her. "Welcome home, baby sis!"
"Hey!"
He set her back on her feet. "So... Mrs. Chang?"
"What?"
Mercedes Catherine squeaked. "Eek! That's your new name!"
"It is."
"How was your honeymoon?!" Marcus Donald exclaimed. "Or is it really gross and I don't wanna know?"
"It was okay."
"Just okay?" Mercedes Catherine frowned.
"What else would it be?"
"Don't tell him that, okay?" Marcus Donald gave out free advice. "It'd kill him."
"Why would I tell him that? He was there..."
He laughed. "You're hurtful!"
Her mouth twisted. "Where's Daddy?"
"Work." Her elder siblings said flatly.
"Ah! Of course... Come shopping with me."
Marcus Donald stared at her in slackjawed awe. "You want to go shopping?!"
"Yes!" It was pulled from Mercedes Catherine's soul.
Marceline Anne smirked. "Yes. It's Michael's birthday tomorrow so I want to get him something. Marc, you're a dude and Mercy, you know him best."
Mercedes Catherine blushed. "I wouldn't say I know him best. I've known him a month."
"The best out of the three of us... Besides, you're totally meant to be. You have electricity."
"Really?"
"Really?" Marcus Donald crossed his arms over his big chest.
"Marc, don't be mad."
"I don't want another one of my sisters pregnant out of wedlock."
"I'm married now so neh!" Marceline Anne stuck out her tongue. "So shopping or what?"
"Yes." Mercedes Catherine nodded. "I want to get him something, too. I knew it was his birthday but I've been agonizing over what to get."
Marcus Donald rolled his eyes with a heavy sigh before following his younger sisters downstairs.
