"Let's stop in to see the house." Marceline Anne suggested.

Malcolm looked up at her in surprise and blinked. "Huh?"

"I want to see the house. How it's coming along."

"Oh. Okay."

"Let's go now."

His surprise deepened. "Why?"

"I'm nosy sometimes. I just want to see it. I want you to see it."

"Okay then. What about Chase?"

"Oh shoot!"

"I can be late!" Chase said quickly. "I want to see the house!"

"Are you sure? I'd hate for you to get in trouble."

"It's just first period. I'm usually late anyway."

"That's true." Malcolm added.

Marceline Anne smirked. "Okay." She drove back to the Adjacent and parked in front of the house where she and Malcolm would be living. "They did it!"

"Wow!" The passengers gasped.

The house was a blinding white with black trim and windows and an orange glass double door.

"It looks so classy and that door is perfect!" Karen approved.

Malcolm had a feeling the door was for him. "Let's go inside."

The foursome left the car and went up to the front door. The door was unlocked so they went inside.

"This place is amazing!" Chase whispered loudly.

"It is." Karen took Marceline Anne's hand. "This foyer is awesome."

The foyer was cream colored but the grand staircase was a white wood with black painted inverted stripes. The rooms were all open so they went to check them out.

The first room they visited was the living room, which was painted a periwinkle blue.

"It's so soothing." Karen loved it.

They went to the dining room next and as promised, it was painted spice.

Malcolm looked at his wife. "Why would you paint it this color?"

"Fall harvest." She replied.

He smiled. He believed she did it for him.

Little did he know that those two reasonings were intertwined...

They went to the laundry room that had a ramp to go down into the room. It was butter yellow with sand and white checkerboard stripes. The wooden floors gleamed, especially under the sink built into a wall with shelving and cabinets surrounding it.

They moved to the playroom and each wall was a different color. Baby blue, lilac, mint green and bubblegum pink. The ceiling was sun yellow. Fluffy white clouds were everywhere and the carpet was a very almost white brown.

"Now this is soothing!" Karen marveled. "The babies are going to love this room!"

"I do and I'm not even a baby." Chase especially loved the clouds.

They moved to the office, which was painted black. With the rich brown moldings, it was very stern but it was gorgeous.

"What's this room?" Chase asked.

"The office." Marceline Anne told him.

"Wow!"

"Talk about your aesthetics!" Karen wolf-whistled.
