"Huh?" I awoke with a jolt on top of a pile of rubble. Something was burning close to me. It was getting closer. Reluctantly, I opened my eyes as I saw the world around me. But... It wasn't the world I knew... It was... shattered. Broken. I turned around and winced in pain. It hurt. I saw a large fire... It would consume me if I didn't run away but I couldn't get up... A small bear towered over me, it was no more than 75cm in height. On one side it looked cute and cuddly but on the other... It looked... pure evil. It looked like it could murder you in a second. It gave out a muffled laugh before I fell back asleep. "Puhuhuhuhu!" I don't know what it was but whatever it was... I didn't want to meet it again.
This was the only memory I was given when I woke up here. In a small bedroom, with the windows covered in bolted metal plates. The room also had a white bed and blue carpet and red, peeling wallpaper. It's been a few hours and I can't seem to open the door. It's locked, even my lock picking skills wont work, even after trying 10 trillion times. I'm starting to get a bit hungry... Maybe banging on the door again will work? Just a second...
"LET ME OUT! LET ME OUT! LET ME OUT RIGHT NOW!"
Obviously I didn't expect an answer after trying for the 7th time in the span of 20 minutes, but it was worth a try.
A strange voice came from outside the door.
"Just a few more minutes... Puhuhuhu!"
"Wait... Someone's out there?" I exclaimed, excitedly.
"Ugh, kids today are such a pain..." I listened to her speak before continuing my cries for help
"Help! Please! Let me out!!" I started sobbing, leaning on the door.
"Puhuhuhu! Okay! Just because I want this game to start."
I fell over, as the door opened. I looked up and saw... The bear... It's THAT bear!
"Hmm, I need to get everyone else out so you should wait in the gym. It's 3 doors down to your left." I nodded and lazily stumbled down the thin hallway to the third door down on the left. The gym. I opened the large blue doors and walked into the gym as the doors swung back behind me. The gym was dingy and desolate. It looked like a school gym that hadn't been cleaned for over 20 years.
I decided I'd sit down in the only spot that didn't have mold or dust on it, right next to the stage. I sat. I waited. 20 minutes past. Nobody had come. At least, I think it was 20 minutes... It felt like a long time... Finally, I saw the doors flip open and thought there was someone coming... To... Save me? Yeah, that would be right, wouldn't it? This IS kidnapping, after all...
"Hello?" My voice echoed through the large gym room. But it wasn't someone coming to rescue me. It wasn't another person. It was that bear. Again.
"Grrr! so everyone else escaped so we gotta find them or else I'll like... kill you."
I assumed it was telling the truth.
"uhhh... so um... where are they...?" I asked, with a bead of sweat running down my face.
"Well, in the outside world, of course! Puhuhuhu! Just... come with me."
Fearing for my life, I reluctantly nodded and followed it as it wobbled down the hallway.
It's small, padded feet moved noisily across the tiled floor to a door with that black and white bear on it... I assumed I'd be seeing that bear a lot from now on. The bear pushed open the door and walked through. I guessed I'd just... follow it. That's what I've been doing basically this entire time, anyways. And through that door was... Oh no...
Outside that door was what I thought I could only see in movies. It was indescribable with any other word except... Despair. The entire world, the world I once knew, the streets I once walked down, the time I spent in this world... Gone. Buildings? Collapsed. Fire? Everywhere. Hotel? Trivago. ok I had to put that in there
