i saved every letter you wrote me
from the moment I read them i knew you were mine

It had been a year since Virgil and Logan married in a hidden palace in France, just before Logan was shipped off to fight for England. It was a tearful sorrow, with empty promises to return, Logan knowing he cant for sure ensure what he had said.
Logan left the next day, in the dead of night, leaving Virgil with an empty bed and vacant heart.

you said you were mine

Numerous letters had been sent between the two newlyweds. They were in love, Virgil always seen with a pen in hand and a notebook stashed away in his bag. He was hopeful; his husband was due home in a month. They would be together again.

I thought you were mine

It had reached overseas in no time. A newsletter, reading in bold print,

Logan Sanders; Solider, Fighter, Cheater.

It struck Virgil like a lightning bolt. He fell to the floor when the article appeared on his phone. Sobs were all that could be heard throughout the vacant house. It wasnt until Patton and Roman found their best friend, hands wrapped in his hair and a cracked phone laying next to him on the ground, did he speak. And it was only a word.

"Logan."

I'm erasing myself from the narrative

Virgil had spent the rest of the month in Patton and Roman's guest bedroom. The pain hadn't left. The letters addressed to him kept coming, only to be thrown in a box by Roman who frequently checked on Virgil and Logan's house. He wanted to write back. He wanted to say something. Anything. But he couldnt find the will to. He didnt want to he apart of it anymore.
He didn't want to exist.

You have torn it all apart.

Logan arrived home to a vacant house. It had hurt. He called Virgil's name with no reply. He turned around and looked at the box of unopened letters, and Roman's infamous red jacket layed across them. Tears threatened to spill from his eyes as he got into his car and made his way to Roman and Patton's. He pulled into their driveway and knocked profusely on the pure white door. When it opened, Patton stood with an apron on and a surprised look that quickly turned into a scowl. Patton began to stand guard as Logan's eyes frantically roamed around the living room until settling on him; the wonderful, purple haired husband he had so desperately missed. His smile was beautiful, almsot certainly laughing at a stupid joke Roman had said, who had been oblivious. His eyes landed on Patton, a pleading look in his eyes.

"Patt, I-" He began, before being cut off by a hand to his chest.

"Logan, you need to go." Patton gritted out, a low look in his eyes. Logan gasped and blinked. This gained the attention of Roman and Virgil, who both snapped their head around at the same time to the front door.

I'm watching it burn

"You cheated on me! It was everywhere!" Virgil cried out behind Roman who had been blocking him from getting to Logan.

"I-" Logan began before being pushed agaisnt a wall by Virgil, who had gotten away from Roman.

"You lied!" Virgil hit him in the chest, tears streaming down his face. "You promised! You said we were forever!" Virgil pushed away from Logan, falling back into Patton and sobbing. Roman had stepped up now, getting in Logan's face and keeping him against the wall.

"You hurt him. He's been here for a month while you're seen fucking someone else. We have fed him, held him, and have done everything he was incapable of doing. And now, beause of you," Roman had a hand on Logan's chest now, anger seething off of him. "He is broken. You broke him." Roman stepped back and let Logan go, anger still burning behind his eyes. Logan locked eyes with Virgil, who had been seated in Patton's arms, who had been comforting Virgil.
Virgil looked at Logan sadly and stood up. Roman and Patton moved to stop him, but froze once Virgil put his hand up.
Virgil took careful steps towards Logan. Virgil looked down at his hand. A beautiful, diamond ring sat nicely on his ring finger. He played with it for a moment before looking at Logan. Logan pleaded with Virgil through his eyes.
Virgil had a sad look in his eyes. He looked defeated. Slowly, Virgil slid his wedding ring off of his finger and took Logan's hand into his. Virgil locked with Logan's eyes before saying, just above a whisper,

"I hope that you burn."
Virgil folded the ring into Logan's hand and stepped back, blinking twice and walking away. Tears flew from Logan's eyes as he watched his two best friends and husband walk away from him. He slowly backed out of the house and caught a final look at Virgil before the door was closed. He walked to his car and got in, sobbing once he sat down. He looked down at the ring in his hand, clenching it and placing his hands on his head.
He had burned.
