"Damn it, Jay!"

I curse under my breath as I check the time on my phone for the millionth time this evening. It was freezing cold out here. I didn't have anything thick on, and I'd been outside for the past hour and a half. The movie started more than 20 minutes ago, and Jay still wasn't here.

I pace around the entrance for about 5 minutes, getting more and more angry and agitated by the minute. This wasn't the first time Jay bailed on me, and I sensed it won't be the last.

"Ma'am, I think it's best you get inside. I don't want you to catch a nasty cold." The nice old man by the door tells me, a look of worry across his wrinkled features.

"I'm okay, sir. I'm sure Jay will be here very soon." I tell him, not so convinced myself.

"What kinda man leaves his date hanging in the freezing cold? Especially one as beautiful as yourself"

"Thank you, Mr. Bell," I give him a sweet smile. "But it's really okay. I've got it covered."

"If you say so." He frowns and gives me a disapproving look. He then goes back to work. I look up at the sky and ask God to help me not to kill my best friend.

I call him several times, with no answer. I finally decide to send him an angry voice mail.

"Jay if you're listening to this. I hate you. I hate so fucking much for bailing on our night out again. And this time you can't fix it with ice cream!"

I sit on the sidewalk sob quietly.

Things had taking a drastic turn from the day I hooked up with Axel. So much has happened these past 17 days. But before I go on, first, let me take you down memory lane:

"Hi"

"Hey." He replies with a smirk

"I guess we're partners."

Fuck Kira, is that really the best you can do?

"Uh yeah. You're Kirana, right?"

"Yeah, but you can just call me Kira."

"Okay Kira, want to come by my place on Saturday for our stupid new projects, or yours?"

He was smiling now and knowing fully well what he was playing at, I smiled back.

"You're place, but you have to know something. I'm not very good with chemistry, could you teach me?" I say with a voice I'm praying sounds more seductive than that of a dying cat.

"Sure. I could teach you so much more too, if you're interested?" He says with an evil glint in his eyes and I suppress an eye roll.
