Jamie knows she probably chose her name on a whim, but once she half-drunkenly spills her entire life (and Caroline goes on a tangent about the evolution of the Olympian Gods because she is the true polytheistic religions nerd in this garbage fire of a family), Jamie can truly see the connections.

Ishtar/Inanna- Mesopotamian Goddess- Goddess of love, beauty, sex, desire, fertility, war, justice, and political power. Known for always striving for more, never failing. Slightly mercurial.
She wasn't innocent, to say the least. She'd shown up with battle scars, both visible and invisible, her handmade twin rapiers slung over her shoulder, her eyes sunken. She spoke in a whisper, stood with perfect posture, and acted in a polite manner. Even a blind man could tell she was broken; she'd just came through hell and back.

Even then she was beautiful.

When she'd come about old battle strategies that didn't affect her, she pointed out every flaw and corrected them with an elegance that comes with knowing. They listened, took notes- nobody knew what really overcame them.

The way she thought was always flawed. She could give a 3 hour speech on the justification for killing a man who'd used people for his own personal gain, but she only gave broken fragments about what she'd experienced. She could name every strategy that has ever worked, but only give vague ideas of her family. She could recite the Quran verbatim in 3 languages, but she was often quiet and dismissive.

Nobody approved of her and her way of thinking, and she knew it. She didn't seem to care.
And Jamie was, quite literally, entranced.

She was, quite frankly, addicted to love- and she always wanted more of what she loved.

She wanted more. More places to travel to and become entranced with the culture within. More admiration from people so entranced that they don't know badly she is going to leave them. More people willing to worship her like the goddess she believes she is.

In her mind, everyone she comes by is a mindless devotee, only ever worth her time when she can get something from them.

All she ever wanted was more, and that would come to bite her in the ass.

Astarte- Phoenician Goddess- Goddess of love, beauty, sex, fertility, and war. Devilish in nature, strong willed. Similar to Ishtar/Inanna.
She often held herself back in regards to how she acts. A polite facade. They never truly see how she acts.

In the end, holding back her own cruelty mellowed her out for the years to come.

They'd gone to a church where a priest recognised her and yelled at her in Spanish to leave this premises. She'd held her hands up and walked out, smirking.

"That girl is a sin."

"She is anything but holy."

"It's as if she'd courted the devil himself."

Madison was not happy with whatever actions had caused a priest to go haywire when seeing her. (She'll call her family a slew of slurs when Venus explains. Venus breaks her nose and locks herself in her room for a month.)

Jamie waits for her to come to her senses and at least come out to eat.

(He'll admit half his waiting stems from wanting to see her again.)

Jamie will admit that Venus when she is drunk is a whole another level of 'sinner'.

He just so happened to learn about which bars she frequents when she sneaks out at god-only-knows-how-late.
