“So… You’re the hero of Hyrule?”
As Malon had offered to clean and fix up your tunic, you had everyone situate themselves in front of the bed, which you sat on, and told the rest of the Hylian people of your adventure. How you faced multiple dangers, and how you’ve bested nearly every hardship you came across. They were at a loss for words, which only made you much more confident to reassure them. Linebeck had his arms crossed as he awaited your answer, and you nod.
“I am,” You confirm. “Chosen by the Goddesses to act as the vessel of Courage.”
“Then how did ya get beat in the first place by a couple’s lizards?” Ingo asks as he was trying to find so many reasons to debunk your claims to prove you weren’t worth the trouble.
“I haven’t rested or eaten for almost a full day,” You say, turning to face him. “I may be well trained, but I’m hardly focused while so weak.”
He only scoffs, looking away. “A flying fish is more believable than that.”
Agitha had a wide smile on her face, as she seated herself in front of you. “Finally!” She said cheerfully, clapping her hands together in front of her chest in excitement. “A real hero! Are you gonna set us free, Miss?”
You smile gently, reaching down to gently pat her head. “That’s what I’m trying to do,” You softly assure her. “I’ve traveled all across the land to gain the strength I need to set our land free from Ganadaur.”
“But how are you going to do that?” Malon asked as she walked over, handing you your cleaned and repaired tunic. “The castle is heavily guarded and monsters are always on the prowl. There’s no way you could go there and challenge the queen now!”
You take your tunic and carefully slip it back on, adjusting the crooked hood. “I know,” You say, “But I can’t wait for very long, either. The Blood Moon’s in two days, and if it comes, we all lose. Prince Link will be married to Ganaduar and she’ll use their Triforce fragments to destroy the kingdom. And even though I have one, I can’t win against two.”
“Even if that’s all true, you’re in no proper condition to fight,” Another Hylian spoke up. This one was more mature, with the physical appearance of a nobleman, yet he was dressed as if he had worked for weeks in the mines without a change of clothes. His hair was brushed back, connecting to a finely groomed royale beard. His piercing green eyes met yours, and after a second to see past the outfit, you were finally able to see it. This man was one of the generals in the Royal Guard. Your own trainer back when Hyrule was still at peace.
“General Leon?” You ask, sounding a little surprised. “Sir, how did you get here? I thought the guard was--”
“Turned to stone, I know,” Leon said, holding his hand up slightly. “I barely managed to escape with several men returning from a patrol before being found by Malon. It's good to see you returned in decent shape, (Y/n).”
You nod to say the same, and Linebeck looked between you two for a few seconds. “Leon, you actually know this woman?” He asked.
Leon turned to him and nodded. “She speaks the truth, of being in our guard. She’s a fast learner and one of our best. She’s very trustworthy, so if the goddesses truly tasked her with the Hero role, then that may be so.” Hearing this from a guard of the castle made the room erupt into whispers, the younger Hylians looking over at you in wonder and surprise. You only smile, and Leon continued. “However, as I said, you are in no battle condition. You’re wounded, and as you said, you haven’t had any rest for an unhealthy amount of time. If you were to go out there now to face her, you would surely fail.”
