(Kayla Rushton)

The party was still going on. Steph is visting each table to greet each guest. Guest are enjoying the different singing performance by different artist.

I walked out and stayed at the veranda. I was planning to sneak out of the party but then what will just Steph think. I never like parties. Organizing is my style not actually getting on the party.

I was gazing the stars while holding the glass of wine.

"Can I join you?" Mark asked. I nodded and he came closer to my direction.

Steph, Mark, Carl and I known each other for a long time. But some depart ways.

"So, how was you and him?" he asked. I looked at him with a confused face. "I was refering to Carl. Do I also have to ask about that new bestfriend guy of Steph?"

"Mark, Carl and I are done. And that jerk he was nothing," I answered. Based on the way he looked at me, he was still not satisfied.

"Jerk? That is something that I should care about not nothing, Kayla," oh there he goes again. Being like a big brother sounded to me.

"Mark, can you drop that subject already?" I need to change topic or else he would interrogate me like there is no tomorrow.

He playfully smile.

"Trying to escape from it is also another something. Then how would you explain the kiss?"

My eyes totally widen when I heard him say about the kiss. That is not something on my mind. I never thought of the people that might have seen it. Great, now I am in a hot seat with Mark. Mark is something that I can't shake things clearly.

"It was just a stupid trick. It was nothing important since we hated each other," I replied hoping he understand my point of view. Although, I already know that will not happen if it was Mark that I was talking to. "Look, there is nothing between us, okay? I hated him so badly. And the kiss his idea to prove if Carl would be jealous or not. But then I then it wasn't actually a kiss. It almost, just almost."

He laughed at me. Hey, I'm trying to explain.

"You know Kayla. It is even harder to think that you telling the truth if you are becoming that defensive," he said.

I groaned in frustrations. All that explanation just go to waste. This is going to be a long story.

And so, I tried my hardest to explained to him everything over and over again.

"Okay, I get it Kayla. No need to repeat it over, again," he said then chuckled.

I frowned. I explained it to him over a hundred times. It was really tiring.

"Why did you do that?" he asked. I looked at him with confusion. "Why did you kicked him? I bet he even hate you now that he felt the pain of your heel."

"I know," I acted so proud of it but on the inside I felt the guilt. "How about you? What happened to you? You've been gone for almost two years."

"One and a half year only. I've gone abroad. To do some stuff," he answered.

"Playing secretive. What stuff?" Now is the time for me to interrogate him.

"You don't have to know."

"Why? It's not illegal or is it?" I wiggle my eyebrow. We both laughed hard. "You are unfair, dude. You made me tell you my whole story but when it comes to your life you just shut up."

"Yup, that is my life. And don't drink too much wine. You don't wanna be a drunkyard woman, are you?" he advice me.

"Na-ah," I answered.

"There you are!" I followed the voice coming from my back. It was Steph. Behind her back is him. "I thought you already sneaked out of my party, Kayla. Good relief you were still here."

"I was actually planning to but then you caught me," I kid her.

"Haha. Funny Tiffany. Come on, the two of you. I wanted to eat with my closest friend," she pulled me as well as Mark inside.

We sat at the same table. Good thing, Carl isn't one of those closest friend. Or I would be skipping this eating stuff.

"Shouldn't you be eating with your family?" I asked her.

"What you don't want me to eat with you?" wow, she know how to talked back to me now, huh?

"Hmm. Okay, I just don't want them to be jealous."

"Oh, they already are."

We both laughed.

"By the way, this is my gift," I handed her the box. She opened it. It was a white handkerchief. "Not really good at stitching."

"It's okay. I like it," she commented. That made me smile. I really find it hard to stitch. "Thank you."

"Your welcome."

I am on my way to the girl's room when a big slammed happened.

And the next thing I knew is that Carl pinned me on the wall. He was drunk. I can smell the alcohol from him. We are in the hallway few steps away in the restroom.

I can't escape from him. He is strong guy after all.

"You belong to me!" he shouted. What? TSwift, really? Just kidding. Omg he is dead serious and drunk!

"What the heck is wrong with you, Carl?" I asked. Shouting at him back.

"That John guy, is he your new guy?" he asked. He's drunk and not a good listener.

I know in that second that he was going to kiss me which I thought. Someone pulled him and punched him in the face.

"You okay?" John asked.

"Well," that's me trying to catch my breath. "...barely," I continue.

Soon, Mark came running towards us and rained Carl with punches.

The security guards take good care of the rest.

We decide to head to the party and think that nothing ever happened. John walked ahead of us while I was walking beside Mark.

"Playing savior, huh?" he whispered to my ear. I know he was talking about that jerk that saved me from Carl's harrassment. I shot a glared at him meaning to stop. I was literally having a bad night.

He raised both hands means he would stop, for now. He smile.

Oh no, there is something that scares me a lot when I saw that meaningful smile. Don't tell me he was planning to play little cupid, again.

Then he set his eyes forward where John's location is. You have got to be kidding.

I need help.

Monkey D Luffy, I need you to stop Markiel Gonzales and his plans in this instant. Please. Oh, please this is not good.
