5: "fake break up or whatever"

~•~Alex's POV~•~

I run up the stairs away from Alex's friends. I don't know what happened, I just couldn't deal with the looks on their faces. All of the guys were confused, like why would Alex date a girl like her? And all of the girls seemed mad, like why wouldn't he date me but instead date this loser? I guess I'm not worthy enough to date the great Alex Hansen. Even if it is fake.

I walk into chemistry and plop my head onto the desk next to Jo and Caleb. Expecting one of them to ask me what's wrong, I'm a little concerned when neither of them talk. I lift my head to see both of them looking at me. Jo looks furious, Caleb just looks disappointed.

"...what?" I ask, concerned.

"What do you think, Lena?! I walk into school today to find out that my best friend is dating ALEX HANSEN and she DIDNT EVEN TELL ME!!" Jo yells to basically the whole school.

"Ok, Jo, I know this seems bad," I whisper as the rest of the class turns their attention back to their own conversations," but I can explain."

"Can you, now?" Caleb asks, one eyebrow raised.

I sigh and tell them everything that happened in the twenty four hours. When I finish, Jo's mouth is hung wide open and Caleb is shaking his head and laughing.

"I can't believe Alex Hansen is paying you to fake date him." Caleb laughs even harder at the thought.

"It is funny, I guess," I say as I turn to Jo," Are you okay?"

"I'm great! You can introduce me to him, tell him all of my good qualities-"

"What good qualities?" Caleb interrupts.

"Shut up," Jo glares at Caleb and continues," and then, when you guys fake break up or whatever, maybe he will go for me!" Jo looks at me and Caleb with a wide grin. Caleb and I smirk at each other.

"Okay Jo, I'll try."

"Wait," Caleb says with a concerned look," Why did you come into class so upset? What happened this morning?"

"It was nothing, I just don't know if I can deal with his friends for a month. It's obvious they hate me."

"I don't think they hate you, maybe they're just jealous that you got so close to him so fast," Jo pipes in.

"Yeah," I chuckle," maybe."

"Look, it doesn't matter what they think of you, you're dating Al-"

"-Alex Hansen." Me and Caleb say at the same time, mocking Jo's voice. We all laugh. That's when Alex walked into the room. He walks over to me, sits down next to me and throws his arm over my shoulder.

"Hey Lena." He smirks," You good? You kinda just ran off there."

"Don't call me Lena. Only Jo calls me Lena."

"Ahh and this lovely lady right here is Jo?" He says as he winks at Jo. Jo stares at him in awe for a few seconds before Caleb breaks the silence.

"Okay well, class is about to start so you should probably go to your seat."

"Whaddya mean? This is my seat! Right next to my girl," I glare at him," Alright, see you after class, cutie." I roll my eyes and turn back to Jo and Caleb. Caleb is furious, looking at Jo, who is still sitting there, basically with heart eyes.
