Transportation is a means for people to move from point A to point B easily. It is a means to reduce the amount of time travelling by taking a vehicle to a desired destination instead of walking. In some cases, different vehicles are more efficient to use than taking a car. While public transport can have its negatives, it can also have its positives. Hikigaya Hachiman was one of the people who experienced that first hand.
Ever since the train station had recently opened near the school, students and teachers decided that a train was the quickest route for them to go home. It was a popular choice amongst everyone, that taking the train encourage a safer environment as there was little to no hazards that could cause a crash. Not only that, but it saved most of the students energy and time to sit down on a moving vehicle than walking home. While it was a popular choice by means of transport, there was a slightly unappealing problem.
It would seem that as it was definitely a popular choice to get home via train, and that a huge portion of the students at the high school took the train, it was always jammed packed in the train carriage. This led to prolonged queuing and would 99.9% of the time cause the idea of personal space to be abolished during the period of time spent on the train.
Hikigaya would usually take the train to and from school with Yukinoshita and Yuigahama. Although not his idea, Yuigahama was persistent in pestering himself and Yukino to take the train with her. It was impossible to refuse to go with her due to her over emotional character so the trio would always meet at the station nearest to their house before taking the train to the station near the school. From there they would walk one block up to the school where they would go to their respective registration groups and start their school day.

It was a day like no other. After being woken up so suddenly by an over excited Komachi, Hikigaya was forced to roll out of bed. After brushing his teeth and attending to any other small necessities, Hikigaya went downstairs to meet his sister where she had made him breakfast. After eating breakfast, the two siblings had gotten ready to set out for school. Not long after Komachi had left for her school, Hikigaya decided to walk to the train station.
Soon after he had left his house, Hikigaya had arrived at the train station corresponding to the one near school. Instead of walking inside of the station, he walked to the large oak tree that was present in the small 'garden' the station had. Sure enough, as per usual, Yukinoshita was there. It wasn't surprising that the girl always came 5 minutes early to the trios rendezvous point. In fact it seemed to work well for hikigaya to meet Yukino there and then wait for Yui to arrive. This was because, although he was lonely all the time, hikigaya genuinely felt that he was friends with the two others. This genuine trust was a mutual belief amongst the three freinds.
"Good morning Hikigaya-kun" Yukino greeted.
"Yo" Hikigaya had half heartedly replied in response. After moving to sit down next to her on the wooden bench , Hikigaya took out his phone. Not long after he took his phone out, he received a text form Yui.So sorry Hikky I don't think I will be coming school for the next few weeks. My mom is very ill and needs looking after. I've already contacted school and they said the would arrange to send me the schoolwork. Don't worry about me I'm alright. Pls pray for my mom tho. Thanks for understanding hikky.
— Yui Ps. Tell Yukinon aswell"I don't think Yui will be coming" said Hikigaya showing Yukino the text message.
"Well then I suppose we should start going to school then" Yukino replied.
"Yeh" Hikigaya mumbled.
It was not too long before the two had boarded the train. As usual, the carriage was quite full, resulting in Hikigaya and Yukino standing up. Standing side by side, Hikigaya decided to hold on to the handles that were so conveniently placed near him, while Yukino kept her hands fastened to her bag. The ride wasn't smooth. It never was. At random intervals the carriage would jerk from side to side, causing a lot of unnecessary movement from within the train.Unable to maintain her balance, Yukino had moved closer to Hikigaya and latched onto his arm . Hikigaya had turned to Yukino in shock and opened his mouth to say something. However nothing came out of his mouth. While Yukino was looking away, Hikigaya had noticed that she had a light blush adorning her cheeks. Soon after realising this fact, Hikigayas face reddened slightly aswell.
No words were exchanged as the two made eye contact.Hikigaya could not help but notice just how beautiful Yukinos face truly was. Her eyes, an azure colour, seemed to shine with a calm radiance. Her rosy cheeks, seemingly getting redder, looked as soft as a cloud (however soft they were). Her immaculate jawline. Her cute little nose. Her perfect eyebrows. She seemed just too perfect at that moment. Suddenly Hikigaya had a flashback.

The water ride had finally reached its peak. As Hikigaya looked down, observing what was to come, he felt a hand tug at his shirt sleeve. He looked over at Yukino and they made eye contact. A short silence enveloped them before Yukino opened her mouth.
"Hey Hikigaya" she started. Her usually cold and confident tone replaced with a quiet and almost pleading one.
" Save me one day okay" she said, a sad smile taking over her beautiful features.
Hikigaya was speechless. He could do nothing but keep his eyes fixated on Yukinos face as the ride plummeted into oblivion.~ xoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxo~
A small tug on his arm bought him back to reality. Hikigaya snapped out of his train of thought and realised he was staring quite deeply at Yukino. She seemed self-conscious as his gaze continued to be fixated on her beautiful face. She gulped.
" You can stop staring at me like that hiki-creepy-kun" Yukino managed to mutter.
"Ah sorry sorry........................I was just thinking of something" Hikigaya mumbled in response, his eyes averting to the floor.
" Please I know you are a hormonal teenager but I would like it if you would not fantasise about me with such dirty thoughts Hiki-pervert-kun" Yukino teased Hikigaya sarcastically.
"Eh!...What!...No!...It's not like that!" Stuttered Hikigaya, making him just seem even more guilty.
A light chuckle escaped Yukinos lips before she leaned upwards and whispered in Hikigayas ears a short but light-hearted "I would hope not"
"Honestly I wasn't fantasising about you......" Hikigaya mumbled.
" So what were you thinking of then since you were so deep in thought " Yukino replied, raising one eyebrow.
"Well I was thinking about that time we all went Disney land" Hikigaya said. He hadn't lied , he just told Yukiko a half truth.
"Anything about it in particular" mused Yukino
trying to find out specifically what Hikigaya was thinking about.
"Not really" Hikigaya had replied so nonchalantly.Yukino decided to drop the matter and so the silence had resumed. Hikigaya looked down to see that Yukino was still holding on to him. It wasn't like he minded. Oh no, not at all. In fact to him it felt strangely right. He wasn't sure how Yukino felt about it, but judging from the fact that she was indeed still holding him despite the fact that the train tremors had eased, he saw that as a green flag.
Little did he know that Yukino was having the same thoughts.
It was unknown to the both of them that they would become even closer.
