Part 4

Third-person POV

The next morning the couple arose early so that Kun could say goodbye and wish Y/n luck on her first day. He had the chef make lunch and snacks for her, and a car to send her on her way.

"Yixing will be coming with you as a guard, just in case. I had lunch and snacks packed for you, and I am not sure if I am forgetting anything," Kun's brows furrow, Y/n kisses him softly.

"I'll be fine, thank you. I should get going, I shouldn't be late," Y/n walks towards the palace entrance, the guards posted there opened it.

"I mean it if anything happens,"

"Yixing will be here, I will be fine. I love you and I'll see you for supper," Y/n runs along Yixing closing the car door for her.

The car took off and rolled down the long entrance towards the gate, the guards opened letting the car go through. Y/n hadn't been let out of the palace for safety purposes. Kun was afraid of the people of Aligovia who might not accept her. Y/n looked out the window as the sun rose.

"Beautiful isn't it?" Yixing voices.

"It is, I adore Aligovia very much," Y/n smiles.

"It will all be part yours soon, and also an heir has been in the works," Yixing smirks.

"Don't give me that look," Y/n chuckles.

The two have become very good friends, Y/n and Yixing have become very close. Kun made sure Y/n had someone she knew and he trusted with her, Yixing protected her.

"I was posted at the door that night! I heard it all," Yixing laughs.

"Oh my goodness," Y/n covers her face.

"It's alright, let's talk about your new students. How are you feeling?" Yixing asks.

"Nervous, mostly excited. I can't wait to start, although I love the palace, it's good that I can get out more,"

"He's just worried about everything, it's new for him too," Yixing explains.

"Oh look we are here!" Y/n squeals.

Y/n met with one of the schools' advisors, Y/n would teach the children till her coronation, once she and the students got settled inside the classroom everything went into place. The children were the sweetest kids she's met and the little girl whom she helped find her mom was in her class as well. She was very happy that she will be seeing them every weekday.

After a very good first day of teaching Yixing and Y/n made their way back to the palace just in time for supper. Y/n excitedly shared her experiences from today with everyone at the dining table.

"A little girl I helped look for her mom the day before your coronation, she's in my class,"

"Really? That's amazing, I'm happy everything is going well for you," Kun takes a hold of her hand.

"Y/n dear, we have to start planning your ball," Kun's mother states.

"Oh yes, well since I've never had a ball before, I was wondering if you could be head of planning if that's alright,"

"I thought you'd never ask, an elegant white and gold themed ball, I have a vision of it already," Kun's mother cheers.

"Sounds wonderful, we have to send invitations immediately, I'm sure you know who to send them to mother, and make sure to send invites to General Wong and Sicheng," Kun adds.

"Of course we are going to make this birthday ball extravagant, Y/n needs to see how we party around here," Kun's mother takes a sip from her glass.

Kun's mother asks many questions and opinions on what Y/n would like for her big day, writing things down so she can plan efficiently. Kun's mother has made it her mission to make sure her new daughter-in-law feels like she is part of the family. She wants to make sure Y/n feels welcome, and this ball will do just that.
