The raging sound of screeching, gunfire, and explosions woke the red headed girl. She shot up on her bed clutching the glock in her hand, panic written all over her face. with a sigh she calmed herself and looked toward the window that was bordered up trying to drown out the sounds.

This wasn't new. this was life now. survival.

The outbreak happened around 2040. Five years later and Rebel was the only one out of her friends as well as family who was still maintaining for herself. slowly pulling the blanket off herself Rebel hopped out of the small cot. She dragged herself to her clothes from the night before, pulling on the black ripped jeans she couldn't help the small yawn which managed to escape her mouth. rubbing her eyes the girl looked around for the small belt-like thigh piece, finding it she attached it to her thigh and reached over for the large knife that was laying on the floor next to the cot. "five whole damn years" she muttered to herself, rather angry. She had lost everyone she knew, not like it mattered though, all they had ever offered her was fake love and criticism, still though, seeing a familiar face in a time like this would have helped. with a gentle scoff she swiftly shoved the knife into the holster, before doing the same with the gun in her hand, she placed in the holder under her arm and headed for the exit.

Gathering her bag by the entrance and swinging it onto her shoulders, the girl exited the unknown building she had used for refuge the night before. She hated this. She dreaded going on day by day trying to survive. it was getting more and more tiring by the day. especially alone, but that's how she worked best. she thought endlessly as she walked, kicking the ruble under her boots with each step, not as cautious as she normally was during nightfall. there was no reason to be careful in daylight. Only creatures out were clickers, and they were easy to navigate around. they're blind, they use sound to find and kill. though they're the easiest to kill. at least for Rebel. her eyes wandered the once beautiful city as she walked aimlessly. all that was really left of it was mostly empty buildings that didn't tower in the sky as they once used too. debris was all over the place, empty gun shell casings, blood, bones and ripped article of clothing. As she walked she noticed a 7/11 which looked untouched. raising a brow she made her way toward it. she looked around to figure out what streets she was on. "Harrison.." she whispered and looked down to the other side. "dearborn." nodding to herself she tapped the unbroken glass, as soon as that noise faded, a screech came from inside, "clicker" she muttered to herself, by default her hand reached for her gun, though this did explain why the store was untouched. she bit her lip and debated if it was worth going into.. she did need to stock up on supplies.

Clenching her jaw she hit the glass. it cracked but didn't break. the clicker inside ran straight to the glass and into it, following the noise. doing this gave Rebel an idea of how many were inside the store, but she also knew if she shot at the glass the loud echo would bring more toward her. she was smart. more so experienced. knowing all this she looked for another way in, until she stumbled upon a brick at her feet. " what if-.." she started, thinking to herself as she bent over and picked up the brick. Rebel walked back a few feet and launched the brick straight into the window before ducking down. the clicker made its way out of the glass window and toward the street, completely missing Rebel. The girl took a deep breathe and made a run for the store. undetected she started to search for the things she needed. taking herself to the medical isle she grabbed a decent sized bottle of cleaning alcohol, a shit load of bandage, and shoved them into her bag. Carefully walking around the store the girl looked for non perishable foods. the store smelled like shit because of the things that were already rotting, not to mention the flesh of the poor bastards who couldn't escape in time.

Rebel reached for one more bottle of water before hearing gunfire, following the gunfire there could be a bunch of shrieking from nearby clickers running toward the sound. 'fuck' the girl muttered to herself as she stood up and walked toward the broken glass window. lifting herself out she turned her head and noticed a tall male fighting for his damn life. he didn't seem to have a single clue as to what he was doing... without hesitation Rebel reached for her gun and aimed at the clickers, holding her breathe as she pulled the trigger, a loud boom was heard and the clicker thud to the floor. The male having taken notice in the girl began acting as if he knew was he was doing, only to be pinned to the ground by a clicker he hadn't noticed behind him. He pushed the creature away trying to keep its teeth off his skin, Rebel aimed and pulled the trigger.. a small click noise could be heard coming from her gun. no ammo. grunting the girl threw her bag to the flood and reached into the bag. only to hear another gun shot a bit in front of her... it was another man, standing on a escape latter from a staircase. she averted her gaze to the male that laid on the ground. The clicker that was once on him, laid lifeless next to him.

Who were these guys?
