The Betrothed

Backstory

    Her name is Katherine Orison, she is one of the fair maidens of Asgard. Some say she is one of the most beautiful. She has a fair face, long and wavy brown hair, and the most gorgeous green emerald eyes you have ever laid your eyes on. It was no surprise that the princes, Thor and Loki, took a liking to her. They had been friends ever since they were children. They would frolic and play in the fields being happy children. As they got older Katherine would practice magic with Loki and Fregga, Loki's mother. Other days she would train with Thor and the Warriors three. Sif, the only other female warrior, and Katherine became best friends. But even a blind man could tell the one who loved her most was Loki. They studied together, trained, read, and practiced magic together. Granted Thor and Katherine were great friends but there was something between Loki and Katherine that was just extra special.
    Soon they became adults and Thor was preparing to take the throne so Katherine didn't see much of him but Sif, Loki, and Katherine were always around each other. Sif and Katherine were taking a stroll through the market place as they notice the two princes across the market square. It being so busy the princes kept walking.
    "Katherine, you must come with Loki, Thor, and I to the Enchanted Waterfall for lunch today," Sif said eagerly.
   "I have studying to do this afternoon, I don't know," Katherine hesitated.
    "Come on, please. You're always studying and reading, just this once," Sif pleaded.
    "Alright I guess so," Katherine laughed.
   "Good, because I was dragging you there whether you liked it or not," Sif smiled.
    "So? How are things between you and Thor? Any progress yet?" Katherine asks as a blush forms on the warriors face. It was very obvious that Sif had a major crush on the eldest prince, but out of politeness, Sif didn't say anything.
     "No, progress. But I've been making subtle hints during our training. It's just so difficult with him always training to take the throne and learning how to be a king, he's never around anymore," she sighs.
    "Don't worry, I can put in a good word for you if you want?" Katherine mentions.
   "That would be much appreciated, Katherine," she answers.
   "Alright, I must be going to get ready for lunch then. I'll meet you by the royal stables in two hours, along with the princes," Katherine smiles waving to her best friend. She walks back home, her father was rather wealthy. Sadly, her father and mother passed away at a young age but they left Katherine enough money to last a while, plus with all her knowledge she serves as the princes tutors. Even though she's younger than them by only a few years all that studying has paid off. She changes into a simple dress

And then she is on her way to the royal stables.
"My don't you look breathtaking," Loki says smiling.
"Thank you, my prince," Katherine smiles.
"How many times have a I told you to call me Loki," Loki smirks.
"I know, I like to see you blush when I call you that," Katherine picks.
"Come on you two," Sif says walking around the corner, " Stop flirting and saddle up."
The horses are saddled up and the four are on their way to Enchanted Falls.
