Saturday came and Taeil looks at himself in the mirror, wondering if what he's wearing is good enough. He hasn't hung out with some people in a long time, so he hopes that he makes a good impression. Taeil doesn't know Ten well and he might invite other people that he doesn't know of too, so he hopes he can get along with him and the others.
Taeil opens his phone to check the time. It seems like he can arrive early, so he starts preparing his things. A few minutes pass by and he gets a message from Jungwoo, saying that he's ready to leave. Taeil heads downstairs after Jungwoo told him he's already waiting outside for him, and as the two meet up, they start going on a walk and went in a bus.
While riding on the bus, Jungwoo told Taeil he had a hard time picking some clothes, so he just went with some clothes he bought. Taeil chuckled, he couldn't relate to the younger since he was the type of person that would look at some outfits and think 'yeah this is good enough' then be done.
Taeil checks his phone and looks at the photo Doyoung sent him. It was a map of the place and apparently Doyoung already left to go to the hangout. Jaehyun picked him up with his car, since Jaehyun was coming as well. So far, Taeil only knows that him, Jungwoo, Doyoung, Jaehyun and Ten are there.
He wonders who else Ten invited, maybe his boyfriend or something? Actually, thinking about it, it would be pretty awkward. Doyoung has Jaehyun, Ten has his boyfriend, and there's Taeil and Jungwoo. Two couples and a pair of friends. This is going to be awkward, Taeil thought.
While chatting, the bus stops as they arrive to their destination, so the two exit the bus, now having to search where the rest are. It doesn't take long as soon as they saw a familiar silver hair at an ice cream store.
Taeil and Jungwoo looked at each other, then nodded as they walked up behind Ten. They can see his piercings on his ears, so the two are definitely sure it's him.
"Thank yo- woah!" Ten got startled as he turned around, finding Taeil and Jungwoo standing behind him. "You guys got here on time! The others are just chilling. Let's go!" He said, brushing off the fact that the two were waiting for him behind.
Ten leads Taeil and Jungwoo to find the others while holding an ice cream. During the walk, Jungwoo noticed how Ten hasn't even licked the ice cream. In his head, he wonders why Ten hasn't licked it yet, and now he's jealous that he has ice cream.
As they finally arrived to the group, Ten walks up to a male that both Jungwoo and Taeil haven't seen before. The male is tall and he has big eyes, he seemed intimidating at first, but when Ten gave him the ice cream, his eyes sparkled like a puppy.
"Yukhei, here's your ice cream," Ten said as he hands the ice cream to him.
"Thanks, Ten!" Yukhei replied, grabbing the ice cream from Ten's hand.
"Just don't drop it again, okay?" With that, Ten gets a nod from Yukhei.
"Since we're completed," Doyoung pauses as he gets up from the bench he was sitting on. "Let's go roam around the park."
"Sure, but let's introduce ourselves first," Jaehyun said, standing up along with Doyoung.
The group agreed and one by one they start introducing themselves. Yukhei apparently is a freshman in the same college Ten is in, and he seemed like an energetic and kind-hearted person. Ten hasn't properly introduced himself back then, so he tells them that he's a sophomore and around the same age as Doyoung. In fact, the two are just 26 days apart.
After the introduction, the group started to roam around. While walking around with the group, Taeil feels like he doesn't know much about Jaehyun. Only Yukhei and Ten introduced themselves and told their interests, but Jaehyun seems like the quiet type. Jaehyun only introduced his name and a few interests, and that was all.
Thinking about their group, Taeil hasn't hung out like this in a long time. It was usually just one person he was hanging out with, but when it came to groups, sometimes they don't work out for him. He either gets left out or it ends too short. Well, there's also times where they're really unpleasant for Taeil.
This time, Taeil felt grateful to be in the hangout. Doyoung always involved him and Jungwoo in conversations, since the two of them are new to the group. Even Ten is helping them feel comfortable and make them feel less of an outcast.
"-And I wanted to bring my boyfriend, but he has a fever right now." Ten puffed his cheeks while talking about his sick boyfriend. He seemed really disappointed that he couldn't bring him.
"Just dress up in a nurse costume and take care of him," Doyoung replied, which immediately made Jaehyun choke on his drink.
"Oh, that sounds like a good idea!" Ten agreed with Doyoung while Jungwoo chuckled, understanding the implications. Taeil understood too, but he didn't want to react to it. Yukhei didn't seem to react to it as well.
"Doyoung-Hyung, you do these kinds of things too?" Jungwoo asked, which made Doyoung's cheeks flushed. Taeil wants to chuckle at how fast Doyoung blushed, though he didn't want to embarrass him any further, however tempting that may be.
"He does, but not in a nurse outfit," Jaehyun replied.
"Jaehyun," Doyoung glares at Jaehyun, a sign that the younger should shut up.
Eventually he did, and the rest started laughing at how quickly Jaehyun became quiet. Taeil saw how Jaehyun's lips quiver, wanting to talk more about the subject, but he decided to keep it to himself. Meanwhile Doyoung tries to change the subject, his cheeks still pink.
The mood was pleasant for all of them, they're all having fun chatting with each other, and it makes Taeil glad that he joined them. Looking at his side, he also notices how Jungwoo is also enjoying his time. He's glad, since Jungwoo at first was scared to come. Now he quickly got used to them and felt much more comfortable talking about his stories.
Taeil looks at Doyoung, watching how big his smile gets when talking to his friends. Before he knew it, Doyoung stopped talking and just listened to the conversation while nodding his head. Doyoung then looked at Taeil and made eye contact with him, which startled Taeil.
"Are you having fun?" Doyoung asked, his eyes slowly turning into crescents when he smiles. Taeil gulps and nodded at Doyoung's question, sending him a smile as well.
"I'm glad," Doyoung said. "You've been smiling the whole day, I'm glad you feel comfortable with us."
Taeil blushed at Doyoung's words, muttering a 'yeah' while trying to keep his cool. As soon as Doyoung looked away, Taeil sighed with relief. He didn't want Doyoung to stare at him that much, not with those eyes and smile.
It was always about Doyoung's smile that got Taeil weak. Sure, his heart would normally flutter at how cute someone's smile is, but Doyoung's smile managed to make him weak. Other than that, being able to join the hangout made Taeil feel glad.
It's been so long since he felt this happy.
