"It's funny how much an encounter with death itself can change a person."
That's what (Y/N)'s  therapist would tell her when she said about how different she felt. Naturally, she was still haunted by the distant yet vivid memories of her parents cold, dead faces. The blood splatters littering the sheets, the looks of ghostly terror etched upon her beloved mother and father's faces. The stab wounds, gushing blood like a water fountain...
And his smile. His haunting, cursed smile, teasing her, revelling in her loss. The raspy, maniacal laughter ripping through the air, sending chills through (Y/N)'s spine.
She couldn't get it out of her head. Every sleepless night, his voice echoed through her head. The noise that kept her awake every night; making her life a living hell.
And the words he uttered before leaving her, bleeding to death in the darkness.
Three words, so spine-chilling, so bloodcurdling...
"Go to sleep."

Jeff's POV

It's been a whole fucking ten minutes since he entered the house, and Toby still hasn't emerged from the window. I was beginning to get impatient. This boy was always such a burden to have on the team! He always managed to fuck something simple up!
"JEFF! F-F-FREAKIN RUN! COPS!" The slightly pubescent, annoying voice of Rogers cut through the air. Within seconds, he was at the window. He launched himself out and towards the house roof I was on. His foot caught on a wire and he stumbled, missing the jump. His fingers curled around the edge of the roof as he held on, desperately trying to pull himself up. He couldn't make it onto the surface; the police were closing in.
"Stay right where you are!" An officer yelled. I flipped him the bird, turning back to the struggling Toby on the ledge. He was gasping and pulling at the tiles by now, his hands sweating.
"You're fucking useless, you know that?" I spat.
"JUST HELP ME, J-JEFF! PLEASE!" He was... on the verge of tears.. he truly feared for his life at this moment, he was so helpless, weak and pathetic. A twitching, begging mess.
The sight amused me.
"Why should I? You're nothing to us. You are weak, slow, stupid, clumsy... you're just weighing us all down." I teased. Actual tears were running down Toby's face now, his mouthguard had fallen and was choking him slightly.
"P-p-please.. Jeff, I'm b-begging you... h-help me, Jeff- JEFF PLEASE D-DON'T LEAVE ME! DON'T W-WALK AWAY!" Toby screamed after me. I didn't care for that piece of shit anyway. So what if he died? Not my problem.
Distant yells for mercy were heard as I made my way away from the scene.
Then the gunshots.
What a lovely little betrayal...
