The rain poured down in relentless sheets, cold and unforgiving as I stood in front of the payphone. My body was screaming for rest, every step from Taehyung's house to here was etched in pain. Blood trickled from my split lip, mixing with the rain that soaked my torn clothes. My cheek throbbed where his hand had landed, and my ribs ached with every shallow breath.

I stared at the payphone, the receiver trembling in my hand. It had been six years. Six years since I'd spoken to my brothers. Would they even care to hear from me? Would their numbers still be the same? I didn't have any other choice. My phone was gone, my body was battered, and this was my only chance.

The thought twisted in my gut, but I swallowed the doubt. There was no other choice. My phone was gone, my body screamed for rest, and the only hope I had left was a voice on the other end of the line. With a shaky breath, I dialed his number, praying to every god I didn't believe in that it still worked.

The phone rang once. Twice. My stomach churned as it rang a third time. Just when I thought it would go to voicemail, his voice came through, sharp and annoyed.

"Who the hell is this?"

Relief flooded me. "Jimin," I said, my voice cracking slightly. "It's Jisoo."

There was silence on the other end, and for a moment, I thought he'd hung up. Then he spoke, his tone disbelieving. "No. No way. This is some kind of sick joke."

"It's me, Jimin," I said, the words coming out in a rush. "I swear, it's me."

Another pause, and then his voice softened, the irritation melting away into something I hadn't heard in years—concern. "Jisoo? What the hell? Where are you? What happened to you?"

"I..." My throat tightened. This wasn't the time to explain everything. "I need you to come get me."

"Where?" he demanded, urgency creeping into his tone.

I gave him the address of the convenience store, and the line went dead without another word.

It felt like hours before Jimin's car pulled up to the curb, the headlights cutting through the darkness. I stepped forward as the passenger door opened, my body trembling from more than just the cold.

Jimin stared at me from the driver's seat, his eyes wide with shock. "What the hell happened to you?" he said, his voice barely above a whisper.

I climbed into the car, the leather seats instantly slick with water and blood from my battered frame. Jimin didn't say a word about the mess, but his jaw clenched as he took in my appearance.

"Jisoo..." His voice cracked as he put the car in drive. "What the hell did he do to you?"

"I don't want to talk about it," I muttered, pressing my hand against the throbbing pain in my side. My fingers came away sticky with blood. "Just take me to Jin's."
