Swiftly, Nightmare flicked his hand back, summoning black bones to circle Ink. Error's gaster blaster flashed in and opened its mouth, exposing sets of thorn-like teeth along with the blazing light at the centre. Ink didn't flinch. There was a wide grin pasted on his face as he took a stride forward.

"I wouldn't dare touch me if I were you," He mumbled lowly, "I have the paint brush- and if you destroy me then you'll destroy it, too... Besides, it's only a matter of time until the tree is destroyed."

"Then we're going to have to take the broom from ya'!" Dream yowled suddenly, hurling himself at the protector and immediately slamming him to the ground. Nightmare and Error ran towards them and simultaneously grabbed Ink and held him to the floor, allowing Dream to get up and get away with the giant brush in his grasp. As Error strained to keep the artist in place, he heard a growling from behind. Briskly, he glanced over his shoulder.

"Move!" He yelped to Nightmare, and they both shot up as Ink's gaster blaster roared with power.

Ink managed to get up. He raced after the three escaping skeletons with crimson eyes flaring with rage. The glitchy destroyer noticed the artist and stopped. He turned swiftly to face him and summoned a single bone. Just as Ink was going to pounce, Error clenched onto his red bone and thrust it deep into the protector's face. The dry crunch sent a shudder to crawl over the destroyer's body, though he felt a twinge of satisfaction. Ink's blood spotted Error's sleeves whilst the bone was lodged in his left socket. The glitch got up and stun back around, bounding towards Nightmare and Dream. They all leapt into the portal before closing it.

soon, Ink got up. The agony was almost completely washed away- along with the feeling of the left half his face. The artist got onto his lurching feet. He noticed that his paint brush was missing and Dream, Nightmare and Error were now gone their plan had worked. Ink was left with nothing but the dead AUs and Error's weapon still wedged in his socket. His rage was... gone, though. He felt nothing but melancholy for the lost AUs, other than... deep regret. Why did he do that? Why did he try to corrupt that tree? Ink glared down at the paper strewn across his land. He was blind in rage, that's why. And now, he felt nothing but pain. Guilt, sadness, regret. He had to distract himself from it. Ink thought. After what felt like hours of an empty mind an idea flew into his head.

Revenge.
