It all started that three years ago, my mum cheated on my dad for another man. My brother wasn't feeling well, as I could see his sweaty palms and angry face.
"Are you okay, Alan?" I asked him.
"I'm not okay little sis! I hate our new life now that our dad married someone else! Now we're forced to attend a wedding in a few weeks!" Alan complained and bawled.
"Alan, stop!" I cried.
"I'm gonna tell Dad!" Alan threatened. "He will eventually file for a divorce, and we will soon realise that our lives have been torn apart!"
"Eunice Seymour, will you marry me?" asked my new dad. Please say no, please say no, PLEASE SAY NO.
"Yes, I will marry you." Mum replied. When she kissed him, we made disgusting faces and were crying very hysterically.
When the remarriage arrived, I was forced to be the flower girl, stomping on the aisle and dumping flower petals all over my head. Alan pulled me to him, and he whispered, "Mer, can we do a favour, how about we'll sneak out of the wedding to visit Daddy's house on our own?"
"I don't think that's a good idea. What if we got into trouble?"
"It's okay, Meredith. We'll have more fun there than here!" Alan gripped my hand and chased down a few blocks. The brick flat that Dad told us where he was going to live was nearby, so he knocked on the door, and Dad opened it.
"Hello my children!" He hugged and let us in. "What's the matter, my son?"
"We have to attend a wedding for our mum to get married, and we chose to skip it for you." Alan feared, removing his jacket.
"You did the right thing. Meet your stepmother and your step siblings."
There were three children, a girl with blonde hair and brown eyes, a boy with brown hair and blue eyes, and an infant with brown hair and brown eyes.
"What are their names and how old are they?" I asked.
"They're Gwendolyn, Elias and Santiago. They're 5, 7, and 5 months." The new woman replied. "And who are you guys?"
"Janine, that's Alan and Meredith, my two children from a previous marriage." Our dad explained. "I can't believe Eunice cheated on me with this one man named Gary!"
"I know, right! Gary also cheated on me with your ex-wife! I'm sorry Nathan." Janine complained.
"Kids, I'll let you guys play with your new siblings as long as you like." He told us right away.
"Thank you, Dad. You should've let us live with you instead."
"I wish, but we're fighting for custody."
When I spent the whole day playing dress up with Gwen the blonde girl, she is actually very nice and sweet. I was expecting evil step-siblings to hate me since I got used to reading Cinderella every night, believing in a stereotype that didn't exist.
"Let's play princess, Gwennie!" I shouted.
"Okay, you have your dress on already, so you'll be the princess." When we headed downstairs to the ground floor, Mum found out and yelled at Dad and Janine for taking Alan and me here.
"I'm sorry, I had to go home!" I hesitated nervously.
"It was fun playing with you!" Gwen screamed.
"Alan Philip Seymour, you're in BIG trouble for bringing my favourite daughter to your father's house!"
I was confused for a second. Favourite daughter... why me? Is it because of my looks? Because I'm a girl? This is just a nightmare that will haunt me for the rest of my life!
