The mysterious tanooki known as Dodon Pa was running another race today with his cars. Mostly as a request for the blue blur, Sonic the Hedgehog. But not just any race, a special race. A race against the hammer wielding hedgehog known as Amy Rose. If he wins, he doesn't have to go on a date with Amy. If Amy wins, she gets to take him on dates all week. He didn't want that exactly, so he had to do his best to win.
Anyways, he was fixing up his car as he waited for Amy to arrive. Didn't take long though, surprising since she's not the fast one between him and her.
"Hiya sonic!" She spoke with her usual cheery tone, "You almost ready to settle this?"
Sonic chuckled. "Yep! You ready to eat my dust, Ames?" He spoke in a teasing manner
"Oh hah hah. We'll both be driving so we'll just have to see who will be eating who's dust." Amy winked and went to her car, which was already parked at the starting line. Sonic watched her go as he finished up his car. No he's not upgrading it to go faster, he wants this to be fair too.
Soon both Sonic and Amy were in their cars at the starting line. Dodon Pa in his floating vehicle between them.
"First one to the finish line wins this bet, correct?" He said, looking at both of them
They both nodded, both ready for this.
"Well, let's begin then! Ohoh!" He pulled a checkered flag out, "Ready..... Set.... Go!" He swung the flag down, thus beginning the race.
Almost as soon as he swung it, both Sonic and Amy drove off. Both going at a high speed, drifting around corners, all that. Amy was entirely focused on the race, while Sonic was simply focusing on where acceleration points were. One lap. That's all they had to do.
Sonic fell behind a couple times, somehow, but soon caught up to Amy, pretty much right next to her. He then shouted towards her.
"Hey Ames! I-" He was interrupted by Amy using a wisp she had. Bomb. She threw it at sonic and gave a little taunt, as Sonic began spinning out of control, letting Amy get ahead.
"Well played, Rose... well played." He got control again and began chasing after her again, coming close to a wisp capsule. He hoped it would be something to help him. What he got was a boost wisp. "All right! Just what I needed!" He boosted after Amy. Soon they were neck to neck once more, and close to the finishline. But before they could do anything to knock each other off, they both crossed the finish line. Dodon Pa announced the winner as they slowed down.
"And the winner of this race, is.. Sonic the Hedgehog! Congratulations! Ohohoh!"
Sonic pumped his fist in the air in celebration, then got out of his car to walk to Amy. "Amy, if it makes you feel better, we can still go on a date." He winked as Amy's smile grew.
"Guess I'm a winner either way!"
