It has been a week since prom and my birthday is today. There hasn't been much of anything happen since prom.
Reece and I watched movies all day yesterday and we had a tickle fight. He randomly started tickling me so I pounced on him and started tickling him.
Samantha and I went out and got our dresses for graduation tomorrow. We are so close to being out of high school then we are off to college. Reece and I got our acceptance letters yesterday and turns out we applied for the same college.
I still haven't been back home since I went and got the rest of my stuff. I call dad and Jai though. We even went out for lunch and had a great time. They didn't even ask me to elaborate more on why I left.
Currently I am sitting on a bench at the mall. I am waiting for Samantha to come back from the restroom.
She picked me up this morning and we have been here at the mall ever since. I am ready to go home, I am tired.
I look down at my phone and see it is already six at night. We have been here for awhile. Finally, Samantha is sitting beside me on the bench.
"Can you take me home? I am tired." I say.
"Let me see what time it is." She says then grabs her phone. As soon as she see's the time, her eyes widen.
"We need to get going. Like now." She says then shoots up and grabs my hand and we start running to her car.
"Why are you in such a rush?" I say once we reach her car.
"No reason. Get in." She says. As soon as we are both in, I don't even get the chance to buckle my seatbelt before she is already out of the parking lot.
Please don't kill me. Especially not on my birthday. What is she in such a rush for anyway? Does she need to get home at this time or something?
Before I know it, we are pulling into Reece's drive way. She throws her seatbelt off and hurriedly gets out and I get out also. I start walking to the front door and Samantha is just smiling like crazy over beside me.
I open the door and a bunch of people pop out yelling surprise. So this is why she was in such a hurry. They even decorated the house with streamers coming down from the roof and a banter hanging saying, 'Happy Birthday Syana!' They did all of this for me?
Reece comes up to me and gives me a quick kiss and embraces me in a tight hug.
"Happy birthday mi amore." He says. I smile up at him and return the hug.
"Thank you, and for all of this." I say.
Reece and I move into the crowd of people and we start dancing with everyone else. We dance for awhile then I tell Reece I am going to get a drink.
I walk into the kitchen and grab a soda and when I turn around, Maddison is standing right in front of me. But her minions ain't with her.
"Happy birthday Syana." She says happily then gives me a hug. I freeze at the action and it causes her to let go.
"Look, I am really sorry for how I have treated you since you got here. I want to start over if that is okay with you." She says, really sounding heart broken.
"Uh, yeah, sure." I say and her eyes light up. Why is she suddenly being nice to me?
"Really?" She screams. I nod my head then she jumps in joy. Okay then. My senior year has been really eventful.
"Time to cut the cake!" Someone screams and everyone piles into the kitchen and starts singing Happy birthday. I am just standing there not knowing what to do. Should I sing with them or not...? Before I could make up my mind the singing is over.
"Thanks everyone." I say. Everyone starts screaming then Samantha cuts the cake and people start grabbing pieces. I've never really had a birthday party. So, this is quite interesting to me.
"So, you want to dance?" Maddison asks.
"Sure." I say, then she grabs my hand and drags me to the living room and we start dancing.
"Do you think we could still be friends after graduation?" She asks. I nod my head and just that little action makes her squeal. Okay, what is going on? She has hated me from the second she met me, and now she is being as nice as can be? What changed?
I mean, I'm not complaining, it is just kind of weird because I've gotten so used to her always doing pranks on me or something.
"I need to steal her from you for a bit." Reece comes up saying. He grabs my hand and drags me upstairs to his room with him.
"I wanted to give you your birthday present." He says handing me a little box. I open it up and stare at it in awe. It's a necklace that has a star on it and in the middle is engraved the letter S.
"I love it!" I say.
"I am so glad you do. I was worried you wouldn't." He says.
"Everything you have done for me I love." I say. " And throwing me a surprise party was more than enough. Will you put this on me?" He nods his head and I turn around and push my hair off of my neck. I feel his warm fingers brushing across my neck as he clips it.
"I love you Syana." He says.
"I love you Reece." I say while turning back to him.
"I had so much fun tonight, but Samantha had me walking around the mall all day and graduation is tomorrow. So, I think I am going to get ready for bed." I say.
"Alright, that sounds like a good idea. I'll stop the party then I'll be right up to say goodnight." He says then walks out. I also walk out and go to my room.
I grab ahold of the necklace and look down at it in admiration. It is truly beautiful.
I go to my closet and change into sleep wear and as I am about to turn off my light, I hear a soft knock on the door.
"Come in." I say and Reece steps in.
"Goodnight mi amore." He says.
"Goodnight." I say and he walks out. I turn off my light then get comfortable in my bed. This was the best birthday I have ever had.
