Chapter 3
As Hans and Cloud entered the room, Davidia turned around and was ready to give them a piece of her mind. She was mad because she was blamed for something she didn't commit. "I didn't do it no matter what proof you show!" Davidia hissed at the two detectives.
"And how would you prove your innocence?" Hans said with a frown. Usually, he'd only get angry when class had started but it seemed that every second of free time had some suspect shouting at him. Free time sucked. Now, he probably preferred getting scolded by some angry teacher than some random classmate who was not afraid to do physical damage. But it wasn't like Hans couldn't defend himself.
"Patty and the monitors from yesterday saw me place my shoes inside my locker, clean and dirt-free." He pointed at the group of students behind him. "Patty cleans her shoes too, so don't blame her either!"
"That doesn't mean anything. You could've come back after the monitors left!"Hans snapped.
"No!" Xena Barbie spoke up. "Manang Prixy drove us out! She even made sure all of us went home! None of us went back!"
"But you could've eaten the cookies when you were about to go home just before Manang Prixy drove you out." Cloud interjected.
"Manang Prixy saw the cookies on the table!" Martha defended. "He even asked us why there were cookies on the table when we were leaving."
"How can we trust you?" Hans questioned.
"You can ask her yourself!" The group of suspects all said simultaneously.
"Cloud, let's go back and confirm what they've said." Hans looked at Cloud and he nodded."Yes, there were cookies while I was inspecting if there were still students left in the classroom."
"Thanks, 'nang." Hans said. "We should go now. There's still time and we still have to find more clues."
"Wait, before you go, I have some information that may help." Hans and Cloud stopped and turned to her.
"Yes? Go on." Cloud said, clearly anticipating what she was about to say.
"When all of those monitors left, someone spoke to me from the shadows. I couldn't clearly see who it was, but it sounded like a girl to me, though. She said she needed to get something from the Newton classroom. Before I was about to say no, she ran off. I couldn't go after her since I also saw a mysterious figure running along the corridors of the library, Manang Prixy said.
"Thanks, Prix, that'll help us a lot." Cloud gave her a high-five.
"Anyways, kids, you better go back to your classes before the bell rings." And so, the two 8th graders walked back to the Newton classroom."He's late." Cloud approached Hans.
"Who?" Hans raised an eyebrow.
"The teacher, duh." Cloud knocked him on the head. "Common sense." He laughed.
"Whatever. We should take this opportunity to continue the investigation." Hans stood up and approached Davidia. She was currently playing with a Rubik's Cube, obviously taking her anger out on the poor multi-colored cube.
"Davidia." Hans slammed his hands on her armchair.
"What now, Lima?" She flared back at him.
"Did you even bother checking your shoes in your locker?" Davidia shook his head.
"Damn, you're stupid!" Hans rubbed his face. He started walking around, trying to cool his head off. "Okay, okay. Calm down, calm down, He told himself.
Cloud rubbed his back. "You okay, man?"
"Yup, yup. It's just that the pressure's high, you know?" he looked at Cloud.
"Yeah, I know that. I also know that you can solve this case. Even if you fail this case, it's not your fault. You were just trying to fix it." Cloud looked at him with concern.
"Okay, fine." Hans then approached Davidia. "Open your locker. NOW.""It's not possible! My shoes were clean yesterday, I swear!" Davidia pleaded. "I didn't do it!"
"You're highly suspected but we are still not 100% sure if you stole it." Cloud smiled, which made Davidia calm down.
"Thanks Cloud, at least you believe me." Davidia looked down at the shoes caked with mud.
"It couldn't have been Davidia." Cloud said. "He and Patty left with the monitors. Now, my concern is if someone could've snuck back in and picked the lock of Davidia's locker. And the one known to pick locks is YOU." Cloud pointed at Elijah.
"What?! I don't have anything to do with this case!" Elijah exclaimed "I went out of the school with you, Ciloa and someone from the other section." This meant Cloud and Ciloa also had an alibi. Elijah then asks Hans what was his alibi, Hans replied "Adriama Zaso and Jade Unknown's parents were having a class reunion so I went with them to the party."
Silence fell over the group until they stated they had no reason to steal or even eat the cookies.
"Maybe the culprit didn't eat it but took it so that they could take revenge on someone here by either letting them eat the cookies or get blamed for stealing them, Cloud suggested.
"I agree with that idea, Cloud. It could have been you, Davidia, you backstab Patty because you think she's a drama queen," Hans said.
Jone Patty tried to slap Davidia but Hans grabbed her wrist in the nick of time.
"Please don't create more chaos."
"Shut up!" Patty replied.
"Hey, Hans also backstabbed Cloud with Patty because he's jealous of Cloud's detective skills," Kamil accused.
Cloud then pulled Jone Patty away from Hans and raged on her. The two of them shared secrets and it hurt to know that Patty was not telling him about Han's backstabbing.
Then out of anger Cloud said "Czarino, Patty has been openly sharing your secrets!"
Upon hearing this Czarino was filled with anger and grabbed for her neck. Patty quickly stepped back but she tripped. Patty desperately crawled backward and threatened Czarino.
"Don't do this or I'll spread more of you secrets!"
Czarino was getting ready to lunge at her so she shouted out more of Czarino's secrets.
"Czarino wants to kill Elijah, Kai and Rhey! He also wants Cilao and TJ to get kicked out of school and he desires to torture JC, Daisy, Martha and Angelo so badly for telling mean jokes about his family!"
"Kamil! I want to kill you so badly!" Czarino shrieked. The teacher finally came and Czarino had no choice but to stop his raging.
From then on, Czarino's image of fragile-boy broke into pieces and was replaced with a psycho killer out to take his enemies' lives.
