This is my first attempt at writing a fan fiction, so please bare with me. J.K. Rowling owns everything.

Chapter One

I woke up startled, breathing heavily. Tap, tap, tap. Came the noise that awoke me again.

I recognized the sound. I turned my head towards my window and there was Hedwig, tapping her beak on my window.

I opened the window to the dorms so that Harry's owl could fly in.

"Goodmorning, Hedwig," I greeted her and kissed her in between her eyes.

She chirped and nudged my arm with the letter, most-likely from Harry, but people use his owl all the time, so it could've been from someone else.

I took the letter from her beak and made sure that it was to me. There was my name scrawled on the envelope.

Heather Alling

But boys, they have very similar scrawling. And Harry has different penmanship in the morning, due to fatigue. I was confused about who it was from.

I opened the envelope with a slice through the top with my nail. My nails were sharp, I hardly ever cut them, but I kept them very clean.

I opened the piece of parchment that was folded to fit inside the envelope. I began to read.

Heather, we're getting together in the Room of Requirements. If I don't see your feet moving immediately on the Map, I'll get Hermione to go pester you. Meet you there in a few moments.

-Harry

So it was from Harry. I loved it when we met in the Room of Requirements. It brought back so many memories of the DA, and defeating Umbridge.I'm not a really big person in the group of Hermione, Ron and Harry, but I'm always there.

I ran to get ready and make myself presentable, then started running towards the Room so that he could see me approaching on the Mauarauder's Map quickly.

The door appeared once I walked past it thrice, and then I entered out of breath.

"What the bloody hell is wrong with you?" Harry asked.

"I was afraid you wouldn't see me moving on the Map," I said.

"Are you that afraid of Hermione pestering you?" Harry laughed, and I shrugged.

"Speaking of Hermione, where is she?" I asked awkwardly, as me and Harry were all alone.

He smiled. "She's coming. I didn't think you'd be that fast. Hermione didn't get here as fast as you."

"Maybe not as fast, but pretty fast, no?" Came Hermione's voice as the door opened with Ron trailing behind her.

"Yeah, it was pretty fast," I nodded, agreeing. Hermione gave a satisfied nod, and walked up to Harry so Ron, Harry and her were facing me.

"Okay, enough about Hermione's speed," Harry said. "We have news."

"What's the news, then? Go on." I said, crossing my arms.

"Ginny has started seeing Voldemort, like Harry does," Hermione blurted out.

My eyes widened, at the news of that, and another realization, "That's horrible! And Harry, you still haven't blocked him out?"

Harry rubbed the back of his neck sheepishly. "No, not really..."

I hit his arm and he winced. He exclaimed, "What was that for?!"

"For not learning Oclumency! You big idiot!" Hermione took the reins, copying my emotions.

"How could you not listen to Dumbledore? He wanted you to learn it!" Hermione and I shouted at the exact same time; Ron and Harry looked miffed.

"How do girls do that?" Ron whispered, perplexed.

"Shut it, Ron," Hermione silenced him.

"Any other news? I need to get in another hour of sleep," I said, yawning and checking Harry's watch for the time. It said five o'clock. I should definitely still be sleeping!

Harry looked uncomfortable, then said, "No... Nothing else."

Hermione gave him a glare, and Ron looked confused.

Harry didn't want me to know something...

But we'd always known each other! Literally, always! I'd been brought up by muggles like him, in Little Whinging!

I really needed to find out what that something was...
