"What church are we going to go to?" Malcolm asked as he dressed.
"Should we find our own?" Marceline Anne wondered.
"Ours is okay. I'm not really partial to it. I can go to yours."
"How about we go to my church and have brunch with your family?"
"Your family, too now."
She smiled at him in the mirror of her vanity.
He smiled back. "That's a long dress."
"It's cold." Karen's words rang in her head.
He nodded. "You look nice. Respectable."
Even though that was what she was going for (church and all), she hated he saw her like that. "Thank you."
"Ready?" He slipped on his jacket and stood.
She eyed him in the mirror. He was devastatingly attractive. "Yep."
M-
"Your church is awesome!" Malcolm was shocked.
Marceline Anne and Mercedes Catherine giggled. "Thanks!"
"What was the third song you sang? Those notes were crazy!"
Mercedes Catherine smiled. "Aww! Thank you, Malcolm!"
"You have a beautiful voice, Merce- Mercy."
She hugged him and he hugged her back. "I might have to take you from my sister."
Marceline Anne tried not to smile but was fighting a losing battle.
He thought she was totally adorable and church had completely relaxed her. He'd never seen that on her before but loved it. "I'm fond of your sister."
"Of course you are." Mercedes Catherine patted his back. "Now where are you going for brunch?"
"Would you like to join us?"
"I wouldn't want to intrude on married couple time."
"Nonsense. And we're going to be with my family."
Mercedes Catherine pursed her lips, hoping that her want didn't show on her face.
"Just say yes." Marceline Anne rolled her eyes. "You know you want to see Michael."
Mercedes Catherine blushed. "Marcy?!"
"Tell me I'm wrong!" Marceline Anne dared her.
Mercedes Catherine stammered.
"I'm not. Come on here. Follow us to the restaurant."
Mercedes Catherine swore she'd get her back.
M-
Michael the Fourth blushed as he saw Mercedes Catherine with his brother and sister-in-law.
Jeanette smiled widely at his glassy eyed look. She could definitely hear wedding bells. "Hello!"
"Good afternoon, Mrs. Chang." Mercedes Catherine waved. "Dr. Chang, Michael, Madeline."
"Good afternoon, Mercedes Catherine." They smiled at her in varying degrees of happiness.
Marceline Anne tugged on Malcolm's hand so he'd lean down. "Wanna bet on when they get married?"
He snickered. "No way. I can't afford to lose money."
"We don't have to bet money." She licked his earlobe.
He turned red. "We're in front of our family."
