Kayla walked the five minutes to Hayley's Diner

They had the best sandwiches

Ever

It had been two days since she'd made the great decision to tell Jay everything

Yep

Two days

During those two days, she'd cowered like always each time she was alone with Jay

But not anymore

She'd finally planned to have lunch with Jay and she was going to tell him everything she'd been keeping from him

Absolutely everything

She walked the last few steps to the door of the diner and Drew in a long breath.

This was it

Well this really wasn't it because Jay was going to he a little bit late

She was grateful for the headstart

She walked to a table in the corner and sat down picking up the menu while she waited

She'd collect her thoughts while she waited

No waitress approached her table because she'd been here enough for them to know she'd never order anything until Jay showed up

It was their thing

Even with her heightened nerves from what she was about to do and what it might mean, she still couldn't help the smile that tugged at the corners of her lips as a memory came flashing into her head

The first time she'd been here.

Flashback

( Six years ago )

" You're gonna like it.I promise ",Jay said excitedly as he more or less dragged Kayla next to him

" I was watching SpongeBob!",she whined failing miserably in her fifth attempt to free her hand from what seemed to be some sort of death glare.

Jay just turned to look at her and rolled his eyes

" Quit being such a baby, you're eleven ",he muttered ignoring her death glare

" It better be as good as you say it is ",she warned, her voice defeated

She wasn't going to get anywhere protesting

" Oh it will",Jay said beaming." And we're here ",he added pointing across the street

"Hayley's Diner ",she read under her breath

Jay had interrupted her SpongeBob moment for what he claimed would be her first time eating the " best sandwich" of her life

It had better be

They walked into the Diner and sat at a table.

Apparently,Jay had already been here and pre-ordered so their sandwiches arrived in no less than two minutes

Kayla took her sandwich from her plate as Jay looked on expectantly

Closing her eyes, she took a bite out of her sandwich and she really wished St that very moment that she really knew how to hide her emotions as the sweetness awakened her taste buds and her eyes widened with delight
