I allowed myself to make some general changes:
Pepper Potts is Tony Stark's sister in law.
Pepper's father left her and her mother for another family when she was 8 and because of that, she has massive trust issues when it comes to relationships. That's why she's never been in one.
Tony Stark lost his mother due to an accident.
Out of grief and despair, he became an alcoholic with no serious relationships.
