Say Goodbye to Normality

Chapter 3

After school, Michael met G and I outside.

“Hey” he said with a cheeky smile on his face, “Do you mind if Calum comes with us?”

I nodded my head and Michael called Calum over. G and Calum made awkward eye contact… Well, maybe not awkward for them, but it sure was for me.

“Get a room” Michael said under his breath.

Calum rolled his eyes and G laughed it off.

By the time we got to Michaels car, there was a huge line to get out of the parking lot, so we sat in the car for a bit, casually singing along to some of my favorite songs.

“You know Court, you’ve actually got a really great voice!” Calum said to me from the back seat. “We’ve been looking around for a singer for the band”

I snickered. “Yeah, right”

He looked at me for a minute. “Yeah right? What do you mean?”

“I can’t sing for your band! The only place I sing is in the shower.”

“Oh, well” said Michael while turning the car on “Keep us in mind ;) "

It only took us a few minutes to get to Michaels house, and when we got there, Ashton was waiting there with another familiar looking guy.

Michael got out of the car without even turning it off.

“Ashton, what is he doing here?”

“Listen Michael, I know you and Luke aren’t on the best terms, but dude, he’s an amazing singer! And we really need one. Just give him a chance.”

“Yeah” said Calum, jumping out of the car, “I’ve heard him sing, he’s pretty good man”

Michael was quiet for a minute, and then he started walking over towards Luke. “I’ll give you a chance. But don’t screw up.”

Luke smirked “Than-“ he tried to speak, but Michael cut him off.

“I hope you can do ‘Smells Like Teen Spirit’, it's pretty much all we know"

“As in Nirvana?” Luke said joyously. “Of course I can!”

Michael looked a bit happier. “Okay, let’s go”

He opened the garage door and they started to set up… And then they started to play.  It was literally music to my ears.
