"Luna!!" My mom yelled from the kitchen.
"Yes mom!!" I yelled out of the bathroom.
"Hurry up before we miss our flight" she said coming in my room.
I took one look at my room and walked down the steps with my luggage in my hands.
"I'm so excited to move!"
"Yea sure mom" I responded in a unenthusiastic way.
"Hey, be more excited." She says
"Ok fine mom but don't expect me to be good at Korean." I responded
"I thought I told you to practice ahead of time" she said
"Yea I did but then I gave up because it was hard doing Korean and American work." I said
"Okay well let's practice when we get on the plane."
"Fine" I said.(On the plane)
I sat down in my directed spot and opened up my sketch book and started designing some outfits. I wanted to be a designer when I go to college. I forgot to ask my mom what new job she got.
"Hey mom?"
"Yes"
"You never did tell me what new job you got" I said turning towards her.
"Oh yea, I'm going to be a CEO of this big company" she said so calmly.
But right then and there my brained stopped and I got really excited for her.
"Wow that's so cool mom"
"Yea I know we're gonna be rich" she joked making us both laugh.
"Ok let's start our Korean lesson." She said smiling at me. I sighed and nodded.
(In Korea)
I happily walked out of the airport because my Mom's lesson was over.
We waited for our luggage's to come around and we left."So where are headed?" I asked in English.
"Nope you can only use Korean from now on" my mom said while she walked to a bus stop.
"Mom come on" I said using English.
But, she ignored me.
"beolgeum" I said (it means fine)
" Good" she said back in Korean
So for the rest of the bus ride I used my broken Korean to communicate." Were here!!" She yelled in Korean
It took me a while to understand but then I looked up and my mouth dropped.
"Wahhh!" I yelled looking at our new house.
"Mom how?"
"I know right and it's already furnished." She said walking to the front door and opening it.
I looked at all the new decorations and it gave off a different vibe from America.
" Hurry up and unpack we need to get some groceries" my mom did from the kitchen.
So I went upstairs and picked a room to unpack my things in.
The room was pretty and had a nice bed and bathroom. Of course it was way bigger than my other room. I still want used to this big place so I didn't know where to put everything. As soon as I was done I went downstairs and my mom went out the door, with me following behind her.
"Come on let's walk to the grocery store" she said and i nodded following behind her.
When we went into the grocery store there were lots of things I've never seen. Except for kimchi my mom makes it a lot. "Ok I'm gonna go find some dinner tonight, find some snacks that you want." But before I could respond to her she was gone.
I can't believe she left me in this store alone knowing I can barely speak Korean.
I walked around until I found an isle full of snacks I was guessing.
I tried to reach a bag of chips but being the slightly short person I was, the struggle was real.
But as I was struggling a arm reached over me and grabbed it. I turned around quickly and came face to neck with a tall boy boy holding the back of chips I was reaching for.
"Here you go" he said in Korean
But being the slow person I was I didn't fully understand him.
"Thanks" I responded in English then he smiled a little
"Wait you speak English?" He asked and I got excited and nodded.
"Wow finally someone who understands me" he said smiling fully.
"I'm lucky I found someone who's bilingual" I said smiling back.
"Well it was nice meeting you I gotta go" he said checking his phone.
I watched him leave and I just stood there holding my bag of chips watching him walk away.
I finally caught up with my mom and we went home to cook dinner.
