⚠️ TRIGGER WARNING: TERRIBLE AND INCURABLE DISEASE ⚠️

It's been a month already since I met my wonderful friends. Veronica and I became besties, which are not having any secrets that we don't know about. Archie is like a brother to me. He's always caring, supportive and kinda cute... I thought I had crush on him. Jughead is still really mysterious, but I found out that he's always like that. I also saw that Reggie Mentle and Chuck Clayton are kinda... scared of Jughead? That seemed impossible to me, because these two are the scariest bullies in whole school and they are afraid of loner beanie boy, which is the last peron who would actually attack someone (he is more likely to back talk, but they wouldn't be scared of back-talking). My life was going almost pretty well for that month. Almost because of my family issues. On Mondays and Wednesdays, I had Blue&Gold meetings. I even joined the cheerleading squad, which was on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and I was kinda getting along with Cheryl. Fact, I still found her annoying and bitchy  but it's better to be in good realation with the Hbic than getting bullied by her. Also I was going on music class on Fridays with Archie, because he asked me to once and I couldn't just say no. My whole life was a routine, but that good one. About my family, well... I hated them even more. Last time when I got hit was when I was 8 and I probably forgot how much it hurt. I only talked to my dad and to the rest of them, only when I had to. Even my mother realised that something is wrong with our family relations, but to be honest, I didn't give a shit.
It was winter Monday morning. I woke up at 7:30am and I had only 30 mins before my class were about to begin. I quickly wore some random clothes, which as I realised later, were all in black - black t-shirt with a little design and black jeans skirt. I didn't make a ponytail, because I was scared that I could be late. I ate some cereals as my mom walked into the kitchen.
-Good morning honey - my mom smiled.
-Hello - I said dryly.
-Elisabeth Cooper, you're not allowed to leave this house in these clothes! What are you?! A punk?! I-I bought you that wonderful pink dress, go and change yourself! - My mom shouted as I started to walking to the main door.
-I don't have time - I said indifferently.
-Elisabeth change yourself or you're gonna regret that as soon as you're be back home! - Alice said.
-Who said I'm gonna be back home today? - I said and looked one last time before I left house. She was definitely scared of me lately. I was back-talking, going back home late, I changed my style, I wasn't as good student as I was back in Greendale, but she didn't do anything with that. She was just afraid of me and to be honest, she should be.
I went to my school and first what I saw was a big banner with caption "Welcome in Riverdale High". Then I saw a table where Veronica and Cheryl were sitting. They wore very elegant clothes. I came closer.
-Heey, what's going on? - I asked while looking around.
-You don't know?! Where were you at Friday... - Veronica said as she came closer to me.
-I was... sick, don't you remember? - I lied.
I wasn't sick, but my dad was. My father had cancer. He was always the strongest, the most sane person in our family. He always was protecting me as much as he could. Well... that's a shame he was never, and he is never at home. It was always because of his work but now...  I guess he didn't know about any time when I got hit by my mother. If I had to be honest, I loved him the most - he was the only person I didn't hate from my family.
-Oh yeah... I'm sorry - V said.
-Are you gonna tell me what's going on or we gonna stare at each other all day? - I chuckled.
-Oh sorry... Southside Serpents are transferred to our school. Their school is closed because of terrible sanitary conditions. I'm really stressing because me, Cheryl and Archie are giving some of them tour for all day.
-Okay slow down a bit, who are those "Southside Serpents", why do you stress like that and why on the earth is Archie giving one of them tour? I understand that you or Cheryl are doing that because you have a good reputation in this school... but Archie?! - I asked.
-Well look... Riverdale is divided into two parts, Southside and Northside. Northside is here, normal city, but Southside, well... that whole part of town is one big gang. They're gang. They seem really dangerous and I heard a rumour that they are selling drugs, but no one really knows the truth. Southside and Northside hates each other - she said terrified.
-Oh God... - I said.
-And about Archie... he just asked Weatherbee if he can since he is a captain of football team, and he just said yes - She chuckled.
As soon as she was done, The gang arrived to school. All wearing ridiculous, black clothes. They all had black jackets with, as I assumed, they're logo. In the head of all new students I saw the girl who warned me at bus stop and... Jughead Jones. Yes, my Juggy didn't tell me about the most important thing in his life. I wasn't mad, I was just... disappointed.
A company of Jughead's gave me a long glare as they all headed to the table where Veronica, Cheryl and Archie were already at. That was just chaos, but surprisingly there wasn't any fight. We all headed to our classes. Nothing much happened except on our biology lesson. I was sitting alone, because Veronica and Archie needed to sit with people who they were giving tour. Veronica was sitting with the guy called Fangs and Archie were sitting with Sweat Pea. And Jughead were of course sitting with that weird girl. Sometimes I think they're toghether and immediately after that thought I feel sick, but I don't know why. He has never left her yet and that was pissing me of, because didn't even say hello to me today. Our biology teacher, Mr. White, asked one of Southsiders a question.
-I don't know, sir - that boy answered, but then the teacher asked the same question me and I answered correctly.
-Correct! You could all learn something from Miss Cooper, you Southside bastards - Mr. White said.
-Thank you, sir, but that's not fair - I said. Actually I wasn't sure what am I doing, I felt bad for all of this Southsiders, because everyone was always saying that they're bad, even though they were kinda... friendly? So I just said what was on my mind.
-Excuse me? - the teacher gave me a glare.
-I mean, maybe all of our new students are smart and they know a lot, but they didn't have that in their school. I feel like all of our teachers are discriminating them because where they have been born and that's just unfair. They didn't do anything wrong so far - I said as all of Southsiders stood up and started clapping. Everyone except that annoying girl. Even Juggy stood up.
-Q-quiet... All of you! - Mr. White tried to calm down students, but the ring rang and we had lunch break.
I sat alone, reading my book and eating my salad when that Sweat Pea boy came to my table.
-Hey, You are Betty right? - He asked.
-Well yeah, some thing's wrong? - I asked.
-Nothing, it's just that Archie boy asked me to give you that - He said while giving me a note.
-Thanks - I said as I cleared my throat. I won't lie, I was really stressed.
-Oh and thanks for standing up for us on biology. It was awesome, because no one is usually standing up for us - he smiled.
Well, I mean... I felt like it's the right thing to do - I said.
-If you don't have any plans for that lunch break, then you're welcome to spend it with me - I smiled.
-Well, it would be a pleasure - He said as he sat.
We talked whole break, he was a nice company. Then we went back to our boring lessons. Nothing more happened.
I wasn't very excited when I was going to Blue&Gold meeting. I was disappointed of Jughead and I didn't really want to talk with him, but he was already in the library.
-Oh hey - He said enthusiastically.
-Wow, you said hi in the end of the day - I said.
-What? - He was confused.
-Why didn't you tell me you were Southsider? - I asked.
-Ohh, are you even asking? I knew you would be disgusted when you would find out. You already are - He said.
-W-what?! No, it's not true! I just stood up for Southsiders, because I don't mind them at all! I'm not like the rest of Northsiders! - I shouted.
-Oh you really did it because of that? Or maybe you did that just to impress Sweat Pea?! I heard how you were talking with him all lunch! - He said really angrily.
-What?! He is just a classmate, he doesn't matter here! - I said as someone walked in. It was that stupid girl.
-hey, am interrupting in the conversation? - She asked with nice, but fake voice.
-No, we actually just ended our discussion - I smiled at her.
-I'm Toni, Can I help somehow? - She asked and she walked towards Jughead.
I walked to my bag while she was obviously flirting with Jug. I saw Archie'a note in my bag. I forgot about it and I checked it in that moment.

Hey,
Pop's at 7 pm?
I'll be waiting with your favourite milkshake.
Remember, only you and me.
~Archie.

I read that and smiled. It sounded like he was trying to invite me on the date, it was so cute. I checked the time and it was already 6:45pm. If I wanted to go to pop's with Archie, I needed to go right now.
-Well Toni... Can you work with Jughead today instead of me? I see that you really want to help and I have really important meeting in 15 minutes. - I asked really friendly.
-Sure, that would be a pleasure - She smiled.
-Great! See you, lovebirds - I glared at Toni and then I started heading to pop's.

-Oof, Am I the only one who can smell the Barchie scent? It's our favourite smell, am I right? 🤡🤠
