The sky is what gave me hope today.Hope that something great would happen.Maybe because the sky wasn't gray but a purplish white.Which made it more beautiful than ever. "we should probably go". Sam said looking at the sky.I nodded. He smiled and took my hand.Sam was my best friend, though it was funny because he looked younger than me even though he was 21 and I was 19. Which it was also funny that he was 6'1 and I was 5'7 yet his features looked younger. He dragged me along. "wait up"I yelled my hands slipping from his. He quickly regripped."Maybe we should go to your house"? I suggested. I really didn't want to go home and get yelled at for being out in a storm."No I'm taking you home Celeste"He said firmly. He never called me Celeste always Cele unless he was mad. "Are you mad"? Sam sighed "No I just don't want you getting sick". The grass squished beneath us as the rain poured down in little tiny crystals then big splosh's. We finally found a spot where it was dry. I sighed. Sam looked up. "It doesn't look like it's going to stop we should hurry".I shook my head. "just a minute ,please".Sam sighed and sat down. I sat with him. "So why were you bringing me here today"? I asked. He smiled. "Well I wanted to disgust something important"."What's that"? He looked over toward me. Then got up. "I might be leaving He wispered just loud enough so I could hear him."Forever"? He smiled at the worry in my voice. His smile faded as he slowly nodded. I got up and hugged him. He sighed. "I'm sorry". A tear rolled down my cheek. Sam looked at me wiping it away. "But that's not all". He told me. i sniffeled."What"? He smiled again, his blue eyes lighten with hope. Then he slowly looked down. "I'm ,I"m". He paused as if he was about to cry. "Inlove with you'. I froze. what could I say. "Me"? Sadly was all I could get out. He blushed briefly nodding. I slowly smiled. Then put my head down to his face. He slowly looked up. Our eyes met.Now I knew he liked me it wouldn't be the same around him,it wouldn't have to because he wouldn't be there. 'why couldn't you tell me sooner"? I asked. Sam shrugged. "I love you too". I wispered. I had always had alittle affection for him though I had always ignored it. He slowly smiled. I laughed, it was cute that he was being this shy." I hoped so". He said. "why's that". He looked straight at me,his face just inches from mine."So I could do this". He softly peaked me on the lips.Sam frowned looking ashamed. i moved in and kissed him back. His eyes widened like he didn't know how to respond. "Have you ever kissed someone before"? I asked laughing. He shook his head never taking his eyes away from me. "Then I am the first ". I moved in closer and kissed him. This time responed with soft sweet little kisses. He wasn't a bad kisser for a first timer.I laughed forgetting that it was raining. Though we were soaked I really didn't care.If rain never ended this would be the moment I would like to last forever."I'll try to come and see you". Sam said, his voice so sweet it made me cry. He wiped my tears away "Spare me your tears". He said. I smiled. I would spare him every second I had for him. He must of read my eyes for he smiled back and kissed me again. "We should go before ur parents start a search party". He laughed at his own joke. Sam took my hand and we walked on. As the rain came pouring down. Which was a sign for things to come, for example the end of the drought.
