Giving in

Chapter 2

Over the summer I tried to get skinnier I lost 41 pounds I was small all I did was exercise. Thought if I do this maybe he will break up with Katie but they were still together saying how wonderful they were for each other. In July I realized I am getting nowhere and I might as well give up on him so I got a new crush Stan Jeffrey we went to church together and summer camp and he was nice but of course to my luck he started dating Hanna Tyler a girl he never talked to but they broke up the second day. I don't know why? She told me how he's so arrogant cocky and rude but I still didn't care because he was single. The 4th day at camp we were swimming for an activity and thats when he said the rudest thing in the world "are you really wearing a bikini because i rember last year you weighed like 200 pounds what happend?" I was so hurt my lips couldn't move after he said that he walked away. After that I ran out of the pool saying I'm never going to talk to that jerk again and Hanna was right!!! When I started to like him I thought he would be the one before Bruno he was my first crush. The next 2 days I would only drink water and not eat anything, when I got home from camp all I would do is go on the scale and see how much I weighed. That's what i did all summer and hang out with my friends telling them what Stan said and tell them I was so over him.

At the start of 7th grade the best thing in the world happened to me Bruno and his girlfriend broke up she cheated on him! I felt bad but also i knew that he was single. We only had 6 classes together study hall Monday's, Wednesday's and Friday's and gym on Tuesday's and Thursday's then we had a reading class, science and social studies together. A new year and he was still bad at Spanish he told me he needed my number for help with homework, my face got all red and I couldn't talk. "Are you ok?" He asked me. I said yes while writing my number on a piece of paper then giving it to him. He put it in his pencil box and we kept going with homework it was a little awkward. Then the bell rang and we walked to band class like usual. During reading class my friends and I were talking about the dance on Friday and I told them that Bruno asked me for my number but for homework they said "when he texts you you should ask him to the dance" that was the best idea ever but I was to nervous, but yet I still wanted to do it. I got a really big grin on my face and we started giggling then looking back at him he saw us and started to smile back after reading we started homework time he help me a little bit on my math homework. I could tell for my friends faces that this was awkward. After school I had volleyball until 5 o'clock when I got home I showered and did my homework it was about seven when I got a text from him saying "why were your friends and you giggling and then looking at me?" I didn't know how to answer so I just said "I don't know" but of course I know the answer to it he asked me a few questions on his Spanish homework and I answered them after that he said thanks and I'll see you at school tomorrow I knew I needed to ask him but I could always do it tomorrow or wait for the next dance. The next day we had gym class and he was running with me I was surprised because I was running faster than him which didn't never happened before I tried to slow down but also try not to make it look like I was doing it on purpose. At reading class my friends told me I had to ask them now or never I said "how about never?" They said "come on you have to or I'll tell him that you like him and you want to go to the dance with him" I said "no you can't do that fine I'll ask him I'll go tell him right now that I need to text him tonight about something important" they said "no don't say that because then you'll be wondering what it is have to tell him and get scared" they are right I'll ask him at the end of the day before volleyball and I'll tell him that I'll text him around seven. It was lunch and I didn't know what I was going to say to him but finally got it I'm going to say "I need help with homework are you free around 7 o'clock?" finally it was 3:20 p.m I raced down the stairs to my locker put my stuff inside grabbed everything and went and found BrunobI asked him "I need help with homework are you free around 7 o'clock?" Bruno wasn't by his friends which was good because they were mean and ever since he became their friends he stopped talking to me more. He said "of course I I am." I went to volleyball the only thing I could think about was what I was going to say to him "want to go to the dance with me?"no that sounded bad what about "hey you know that dance you, me date?" ugh that was even worse "hey you know that dance on Friday are you going" "oh you are okay" "I'll meet you there." That one sounded perfect!!! When I got home I showered ate and then texted him of course I need to ask him a question about homework or he would've known I lied. "I asked him do you use the reciprocal of a number when dividing fractions?" Almost exactly after I sent that Bruno replied "yes you do. What problem are you on?" I replied "I'm on problem 12." He replied "ok" after that i asked him "did you finish your homework?" He said "ya" after that I replied "was probably 19 hard like Mr.Cooper said it was going to be?" He replied "I was a little hard" I know he was getting bored so I needed to ask him I started typing "are you going to the dance on Friday?' He said "yeah, is the dance from 7 to 9?" replied cool and yeah it is from 7 to 9. Guess I'll meet you there" he replied back saying "is that a date?" I started giggling and blushing and said "ya i guess it is :)" after that he replied "cool see you there ;)" I went to sleep dreaming about him.
