~Kai's Pov~
I got an email from my school while I was on my 4 year old computer, scrolling through a random website I had randomly discovered. I clicked on it and my heart stopped after I finished it. It was 3 days before school started up again after summer and they tell me I have to go to the actual school instead of taking online classes!? I groaned, this totally ruined my plan for me and Jordan. I was thankful that Jordan started his first day in 2nd grade a day before I apparently attend a real high school. I heard my door open and I turned my body so I could see my younger brother standing at the door way.
"Kai? I'm hungry, can you make Mac and cheese?" Jordan asked with his round, innocent eyes.
"Uh, yeah kiddo, what time is it?"
"7:34." I sighed and stood up, stretching my arms. Jordan left to go to the living room and I walked out of my room and into the kitchen. I pulled out a box of macaroni and got a pan out.
After I made it, I handed a bowl of the Mac and cheese to Jordan who was sitting on a stool at the counter. I didn't bother to make myself a bowl since I didn't have an appetite. After Jordan finished eating I ushered him to his room to change.
"Can you tuck me in Kai?" He asked with a small smile. I nodded and smiled back as he grabbed two of my fingers and led me to his bedroom. It had all the basic essentials with a twin bed in the corner with a plain side table by his bed. I tucked him in and said goodnight.
I sighed and went back into the kitchen to clean up the mess I made. After all that it was 9:30 p.m. I groaned and went back to my room after I turned off all the lights. I didn't have to because someone was paying the bills and I had no idea who, but I was grateful either way. I sighed as I see that I left the email open on my computer. I groaned in frustration and closed out of the tab before going to my bed. It took me a while, hours, for me to finally sleep.

First day of highschool
I made my way into the school with my hoodie over my head, looking down. I really didn't want to talk to anyone and just get my last year of highschool over with. I made my way to the main office to talk to the principal. I shyly told the front desk that I had a meeting with the principal and they let me in. I sat in front of the principal with my hands in my lap.
"You are Kai Jones, correct?" He asked. I nodded slightly.
"Well do you have any questions before I get one of our students to show you around the school?" I huffed.
"I just don't understand why I had to be dragged to a school instead of continuing my school work online." The principal sighed and rubbed there chin
"We just wanted you to have social interaction since you've been taking online classes ever since you started high school."
"I don't need to socialize!" I raised my voice. The principal disregarded my protest.
"You can come in now Rylie." The principal shouted out into the hall. A girl with long brown hair tied up into a simple braid and round gleeful blue eyes came into the room. She smiled sweetly at me.
"Rylie here is going to be in all of your classes, except for PE and History, so she can show you around." The principal said. I nodded and stood up. It wasn't surprising that Rylie was taller than me, I was really short for my age. Rylie led me out of the office and back into the halls which were filled with more people.
"So what's your name?" Rylie asked as we walked down to first period, which was English.
"Uh, Kai"
