Will's pov///

I waved my hand in front of Mike's face.  He snapped out of his trance.

"Yeah, Will?"

"You okay?"

Mike grinned widely at me. It was a real smile. He had been thinking about me. 

"Yeah, I'm great." He winked.

I turned away, blushing. Could he have been thinking about it, too?

He turned upside down on the sofa, letting his head hang at my feet. El sat next to us, giggling.

Max laughed with El as Lucas sipped his New Coca Cola. 

Lucas and I looked at each other and he smiled. I smiled back. Then his gaze averted back to Max. The way he looked at her was just a look of pure love and adoration, but then he glanced down at her ass and licked his lips.

Yup, love and adoration.

Sometimes I wondered if Mike actually felt what I felt that night. He probably wanted what I wanted— in a heated moment like that, anyone would. But I wondered if he ever loved me, like more than a best friend.

My thoughts were interrupted by Mike leaning over to my ear. 

I expected him to crack a joke, or tell me to look at something, but this, THIS surprised me the most.

"Will, you look good," he whispered, his breath on my neck sending shivers down my spine.

"What??" I whisper-yelled back. I could have sworn I misheard him.

"You. Look. Good," he looked me up and down, then he, very discreetly, bit his lip. "Reaaallly good."

"N-No I don't," I argued, voice cracking. My eyes looked tired, my shirt was wrinkled, and my shorts didn't fit.

"I think you—" There was a loud bang upstairs. Everyone looked up. I noticed Lucas eyeing his wrist rocket for a moment, before abandoning it to go upstairs alone. I looked at Max, who silently flailed her arms in a failed attempt to get Lucas' attention. You could tell that she was against him investigating it by himself. She got up and went up the stairs, disappearing behind the door.
