Elegance not personality, elegance not personality, elegance not personality. This was the message I had drummed into my mind from a young age. Still, I didn't follow it. After all I am Princess Fyre- Bright, first born daughter of house Silver-Moon, first order of the Night-Life. I am the heir to the throne of vampires in England. But that doesn't mean I have to follow all that court etiquette rubbish. After all, I am different - even Father (high king Silver- Moon) said so! I look different, with my bouncy thick blond- unfortunately wavy hair that takes ages to tame ( most vampires have jet-black hair), my tan skin with a slight pale undertone (as most people think, vampires are awfully pale) and most importantly my eyes which are blood red. Most vampires have black eyes. Not me! Well since I'm so different with my apparently ravishing good looks and rebellious personality, I can afford to be late especially since I know that tonight's going to be so boring.

Tonight is the last night of the alliance treaty signing and tomorrow it will be carried out. A treaty which means I must marry the heir to the vampire throne of America. Making the thrones of both countries undivided. And I won't meet him till tomorrow, the day of my blood bonding (like a wedding). All I know is that he is a grade A jerk-face! Perfect! " oh princess Fyre- Bright, your going to be late miss. For that very grand entrance. Come on now, come with old Hilda" my old and frail looking maid said in my ear while gently tugging on my arm. Oh well, I might as well get this shit out the way!

As I walked through the great marble doors of the palace I saw my father and King Moon- Knight say at the great table awaiting me. I curtsied in my beautiful red dress- nearly tripping over in the process. " oh so sorry I'm late father, I didnt realise the time." I hurriedly ran to my place at the table, next to my father and gracefully took my seat.

"Fyre, darling, as you know you- with the signing of the treaty, were due to be bonded to prince Dracula, well there has been an unfortunate development." my father looked at me, he gave me a look that people who did not know my father would have thought sincere, I knew it to be his 'this is the best news ever, ever, ever look'

The other king looked up at this point and scowled "it would seem that my ex- son would rather party then take up the mantle as king! He has denounced his claim to the throne."

This was the best news ever! I didn't have to have my blood bonded to prince Dracula. Like YAY. " my condolences, however, may I ask, what does that mean for the treaty?"

The king laughed "you shall be bonded to my other, better son. My pride and joy. Commander of the battlefield, away for 3 moons running the defence perimeter. My brilliant son, Prince Vladimir."

And with that the doors creaked open.....
