Life Can Wait
"The reality is you will grieve forever, you will not 'get over' the loss of a loved one; you will learn to live with it. You will heal and you will rebuild yourself around the loss you have suffered. You will be whole again but you will never be the same again. Nor should you be the same, nor should you want to."
~Elizabeth Kubler-RossThe bed felt cold particularly tonight for Todd. It had been this way since Neil died but tonight the bed felt painfully lonely. He tossed and turned trying to find the warmth of anyone. He tried to do what he usually would on nights similar to tonight and curl up and cry. But no tears wanted to fall tonight, a win for his new roommate. So he opted for not sleeping and instead sitting on the window seal.
He knew this feeling was probably from his guilt of pinning everything on Mr. Keeting, but he had to. He looked out the window and started to count the stars. His mind wandered to distant memories of his childhood home further out in the country, and the times he could see the whole universe. As these welcoming thoughts soothed him he was lulled to sleep.

His roommate could hear the boys breathing evening out and sighed, Todd really was a mess. He knew he wasn't strong enough to move the boy so instead he decided to wrap the boy in a blanket.
Once officially wrapped, Todd snuggled adorably into the blanket. The ghost of a smile played across the roommates features. Though Todd was a hand full and an emotional baby, he was a sweet kid who was going through alot.
After checking one last time to make sure Todd was ok the other boy crawled into bed with a small smile on his face and a warm feeling in his chest.

Charlie was sleeping. Not the nightmare filled, light, leave-you-feeling-more-tired sleep; the snor so loud you could wake up the whole campus kind of sleep.
Knox chuckled to himself at this. He finally had time to actually write poetry and other stores down. He turned his attention back to his work as his roommates snoring went a bit quieter. He was currently catching up on his journal entries about what was happening.
Knox had started a journal so he could keep his days at hellton from blurring together. And since Neil died and everyone kinda went crazy, he had slackened a bit.
About ten minutes later he had finished the final one and could start on what had happened today. He shifted in his seat, knowing exactly what he'd have to admit to doing.
So he wrote and as he did he felt strangely better about the whole situation. Yeah he might have blamed everything on Captain but at least his future was still bright. He could only hope everything would be ok.
Blowing out his candle he moved towards his bed to finally go to sleep. He let his mind wander to the good he felt as he finally shut off his brain for the night.

Meeks was laying in bed staring at the sleeping figure in front of him. He couldn't sleep and no amount of imagining his best friend holding him would help him. All he wanted was to have Pitts hug him and tell him it would be ok and that he had done the right thing. He felt silent tears rise to his eyes as his longing was reaching it's peek.
"Why are you crying?" The deep whispery voice cut through the silence. Meeks was stunned, not knowing how Pitts could have known he was crying.
"I'm not-" he tried to say but was cut off by Pitts.
"I love you so much, so stop crying please! Steven I'll be there for you always so don't cry anymore." Pitts said in a desperate whisper.
If Meeks wasn't crying before he was now, Pitts had just unconsciously confessed his love to him. Meeks made a strangled noise as a happy sob rose out of him.
Meeks wanted to reach out and wake him up and tell him that he loved him too, but he couldn't his body wouldn't move. So he vowed that he was tell Pitts exactly how he felt in the morning.
Steven Meeks finally fell asleep after that and dreamt about a happier time, when the world was perfectly right for everyone and where he could have the one he loved.

Haha you thought! Yep it's me and yep there's no Grace this chapter! We wanted you to have a softer chapter before everything happens next chapter. Btw Todd's roommate needs a name! So comment for some ideas. I picture the roommate is older or younger than Todd and isn't gay at all but has grown used to seeing Todd crying so much that he feels protective over him. Also some more Meeks and Pitts! They are so pure and cute! Ok that's all for now! Please vote and comment if you enjoyed and I will see you all in the next chapter!!!💚🦕💗🌸
