7. Night Falls

Sierra's Pov
Once we arrived back in Auradon we looked around trying to find anyone awake.
"They're asleep. Everyone." I called out from where I stood next to Carlos.
"I can't get Ben." Mal announced, her voice laced with worry.
"Or Dizzy or Doug. The signal's out." Evie added sounding equally concerned.
"Is that Auradon Prep?" Sasha asked struck with amazement.
"Yeah. When everybody wakes up,
you're going to love it." Carlos flashed Sasha a smile.
"Everything is so..."
"Freaky." Jay said looking around at all the sleeping citizens.
"...green." Gil finished
"You have leaves on your trees. And what are those colored things on the bushes?" Gil asked with amazement and confusion in his tone.
"Uh... Flowers?" Jay replied as if it was obvious which to him it but to Gil it was foreign.
"Flowers are pretty. Cantaloupe! Mm!" Gil dug into the fruit left out on the table and Jay shot him a look. Uma spoke up to explain Gil's actions, "We don't have fresh fruit on the Isle, remember?"
"They're grapes." Jay said after patting Gil's shoulder:
"Grapes? I love grapes." He finished the bowl of grapes and followed the group.

"I believe I deserve some compensation
for my muscles, my wile, and my role in this endeavor." Harry spoke with arrogance in his voice as he pick pocketed some sleeping people.
"You do. Me not squashing you like a bug." Jay replied as he put the money back into the wallets.
"Think I'm scared of you, Jay?"
"Guys!" I said cutting the testosterone competition short when they both turned to see who yelled at them.
"Mm!"
"Dude." Carlos groaned walking over to the small dog
"Delicious." He exclaimed after he finished licking the unconscious guy's hand clean and letting out a burp.
"Dude, really?" Carlos questioned after watching Dude steal food from the guy.
"What? It wasn't me, I swear." Dude tried to throw Carlos off his trail
"Okay. It was me." Dude finally admitted.
"Hey, do you know what happened here?" Carlos crouched down the ask Dude about Auradon's current situation.
"Yup. Jane showed up. She put everybody to sleep." Dude answered with his usual doggy careless And then she turned some of them to..."
"Guys." Evie said catching everyone's attention, "Hannah turned to stone."
"All right. Everybody stay on their toes." Mal ordered both groups
"Look, since we're here, let's check the school." Uma suggested looking around  the area.
"No," Mal objected, "Jane went straight for the crown, so, I think it's safe to assume that she's gonna go for Ben and his castle next. That's where we'll go."
"Says who?" Uma challenged Mal even on such a little issue.
"Says me." Mal stood her ground.
"Says you. And that's supposed to mean something to me?" Una replied her voice full of her natural sass.
"Guys." Evie cut them both off before the disagreements got any further.
"To the castle." I finally ordered everyone and began walking in that direction with everyone following.

We finally made it to the castle and began searching the halls with Dude leading because of his great sense of smell.
"Ben could be asleep anywhere." I said hopelessly
"Or turned to stone." Harry spoke putting his unnecessary 2 cents in as usual.
"Okay. Ben!" Mal called out
"I got a scent. Very pungent cologne. Easy to track. Follow me, people." Dude announced after sniffing the air for a minute.
"That's great, Dude." Carlos praised after petting his dog's head
"FYI, I give great cuddles, too." Dude spoke matter-of-factly.
"Really? I never had a pet growing up.
Well, except for the elk head in Dad's man cave but that wasn't..." Gil started his little anecdote.
"Hold up." Uma stopped the group after finding claw marks decorating the walls and tearing through a painting, "What's this?"
"Uh... Any chance this was already there?" Carlos asked nervously motioning towards the broken picture.
"And follow me!" Dude said before taking off down the hall.
"Ben! Ben!" We all called out trying to find our missing friend in the huge building.
"Stay here, okay?" I stated firmly to Sasha when we got to the doorway of a room full of armor.
"I can feel you looking." Harry said smugly as he examined a sword
"Good." Jay snarled back
"So you can track, cuddle, and talk.
Hey, do you think his puppies would be able to talk, too?" Gil asked mostly Dude but Carlos as well
"All right, man. He's taken. You want a dog, adopt a rescue." I spoke up letting Gil know that Dude was Carlos's dog.
"Talking puppies. That's crazy." Dude chuckled as though his current situation wasn't just as crazy.

"I bet you lost some sleep thinking about me on the loose, huh?" Uma smirked
"No. Dragons don't really lose sleep. I wonder what fried octopus tastes like." Mal replied with sass
"Okay. Why do we not do this?" I spoke up rolling my eyes at their childishness.
"We're celebrating our differences."
"I believe we're being challenged." Harry spoke looking directly at the knight in front of us.
"Let's split up and look for Audrey." Uma suggested ignoring Harry's statement.
"That makes absolutely no sense. Unless you give me my ember, she's going to spell you." Mal shot down her idea in an instant also paying Harry no mind.
"Girls!" Harry shouted catching everyone's attention, "We have a situation here!" Blue smoke surrounded the knights mask, "You like a prince Sierra? How about a knight in shining armor? Or knight," Jane cackled through the empty shell.
"Watch your back Watch your back"
"We can counter their attack. Hit them till the armor cracks!" We all sang together as we tried to escaped but were blocked by the possessed knights.
"This could get a little sticky. How to win this battle could be tricky.
But I know the best way, fall back let me lead." Uma sang motioning to herself and ignoring Mal's presence next to her, "You hold the line and we'll bring them to their knees," Uma continued from the small stage in the middle of the room as everyone grabbed a sword to defend themselves.
"Swords in the air, If you're with me!" Mal started her own verse holding her sword high in the air.
"They got us outnumbered one-to-fifty
The victory is ours because I've got a strategy, you take the left and the rest of you can follow me." She ordered Uma and the boys.
"This is my crew" Mal sang getting into Uma's face.
"Look this is my squad" Uma shot back with sass.
"This is my turf" Mal pointed out.
"Oh, my gosh! Look guys we got bigger fish to fry. Put your differences aside
'Cause now we're on the same side" I sang getting in between them.
"Till the night falls, everyone, we'll stay together till the battle is done," I sang loudly as I raised my sword to the sky and charged at one of the knights near Carlos.
"Watch your back, Watch your back
Watch your back, Watch your back" We all harmonized.
"We can counter their attack, hit them till the armor cracks. Until the night falls we're aligned It doesn't mean that we're on the same side," Mal and Evie sang together fighting off two knights on the other side of the room.

"Hit them hard, And hit them fast
They're too heavy to react," We all sang together as we fought to get free of Jane's crazy schemes.
"The situation is getting kind of heavy
Hold your weapons tight keep them steady," I belted as I blocked the knight trying to hit Carlos with his heavy sword.
"Cause if we stick together
We can make it out alive
I will cause a distraction
You attack them from the side" Carlos sang after me as we held the knights off together.
"All my soldiers stand at the ready
We can cut them up like confetti
We'll hit them from the front
You counter from behind
Don't forget the fate of Auradon's on the line" I swung over a knights back as it was bent over and struck one over the head with my sword.
"This is all-out war. They got us outnumbered. The way the swords clash is the sound of the thunder," We harmonized as we fought.
"And we are not going under we will never run for cover!" Mal ordered our squad.
"We battle for the victory and ride for each other until the night falls, everyone, we'll stay together till the battle is done," I sang as I swung my sword and pointed upward. The knights did their choreography and stood facing us swords ready, Mal and Uma clashes their swords against our metal foes' which triggered purple and blue lighting to radiate off the metal. That was the perfect moment for my magic spell, "Suit of armor strong and true, make this metal bust a move." I sang my spell out making the knights copy our dance moves instead of fighting. I did a belly dance which the knights copied, Uma did her own thing followed by Carlos. Soon everyone was full on dancing all the knights, I had partially broke Jane's spell.

"Until the night falls, You can trust
I'm gonna help you win this battle because I got your back!"

Knights fall pitch black!"
All the knights fell into a motionless pile on the floor and then I knew we had all best Jane for now. I ran over to Carlos and hugged him close and left a small peck on his cheek, "we did it babe!"
