"And like the moon, we must go through phases of emptiness to feel full again."

It's been two weeks since I had the talk with my father and Josh. The talk that changed everything.
It's also been two weeks since I've seen that handsome stranger again and I haven't been able to get him out of my mind.I've spent those two weeks unpacking and getting ready for my first day of school, which happens to be today. I'm dreading meeting new people, anything social has never been in my strong suit.
I took a deep breathe, and told myself school isn't exactly on my top list of things to worry about. Not when I've found out that my recently dead mother has lied to me about everything, and tried hiding my brother from the world.
I forced myself to the bathroom, and took a quick shower, letting the water wash away all bad thoughts. Just blend in, I convinced myself. I just have to get through the day, and not draw any extra attention to myself.
Blending in was easy for me, I wasn't exactly anything special. I had deep brown eyes that matched my hair, and my height barely reached 5'1. My body had a good amount of curves despite my size, but I normally hid under baggy clothes to cover them.
I hopped out of the shower and wrapped a fluffy pink towel around my small frame. I threw on my outfit of the day, which consisted of a beige over sized hoodie, light ripped jeans that I had to roll on the bottom, a disadvantage of being short, and paired it with my checkered slip on vans.
I glanced at the time, I had 30 minutes before I had to leave. I decided to let my hair air dry, but grabbed my concealer, and dabbed a small amount on my under eyes. I normally don't wear makeup, but I looked sickly from my lack of sleep - so I made an exception. I swiped on some cherry lip balm, and started making my way downstairs.
I walked into the kitchen, and saw my father grab a pan out of the oven with a mitt on. The pan was smoking, practically on fire and a strong burnt smell engulfed the room.
He turned around, looking at me sheepishly. "I tried making you breakfast for your first day, but I haven't really cooked in years." He said, whilst scratching the back of his head.
The situation was just so funny, that I laughed- I laughed for the first time in months. "It's okay, I'll just grab something to eat on the bus." I responded, after my laughing fit.
I have my license, but I don't have a car, so I had to take the school bus- or at least I thought I did...
His head snapped in my direction, "School bus? You think I'd let my daughter take the bus?" He said, while lightly shaking his head.
He reached into his pocket, and tossed a pair of keys to me, "A welcome home present" He explained, smiling.
I couldn't help but smile, not like the fake ones I've been forcing onto my face for months, but a real, whole hearted, smile. I practically jumped up and down in excitement, he bought me my first car.
"Well what are you waiting for? It's in the garage." He shooed me, placing a granola bar in my hand while doing so.
I grabbed my backpack on the way to the garage, when I opened the door my heart dropped. Sitting in front of me was a white 2019 Tesla Model S , and it was all mine.
Happier than I've been in a long time, I hopped in the front seat and started the ignition. I typed the school's address into the gps, and followed the directions there. Pulling into the parking lot, I felt my heart race begin to increase. It was like a sea of students everywhere, already proving the school was much bigger than my last.
I wished Josh was here with me so I'd at least know one person, but he graduated last year. I pushed my nerves aside, and decided I should head in early to get my paperwork.
I made my way into the office, where an overly cheerful lady was sitting at the front desk. "What can I help you with, dear?" She asked, her smile never once faltering.
"Um - I'm new, so I came for my paperwork." I responded, awkwardly.
After a few minutes of me continuing to stand there like a fool, and her searching throughout the files, she finally found what she was looking for. She handed them over to me , and I walked out.
I wasn't paying attention where I was going though, I was too busy trying to read my schedule. Due to my lack of multitasking, I ran straight into a rock hard chest, knocking them over, along with myself.
I looked down, and it was no other than the handsome stranger, himself. He was wearing a tight fitting black t-shirt, that showed off his muscles perfectly. Along with a black leather jacket, black ripped jeans, and combat boots, which were surprisingly... black as well.
I just stared at his perfectly created face, for what felt like hours. But I was suddenly broken out of my trance when he huskily whispered in my ear, "As much as I like this position, I really must be going princess."
I snapped my head down, and realized I was full on straddling him on the ground. I flung my body up, in attempt to get out of this horrific situation. However, my foot tripped over his ankle, and I was sent flying back down.
As I fell, my knee came down and collided with his crotch. He cursed, loudly, in response and put his hands down to his crotch while rolling over on the ground. He groaned in pain, while I was frantically trying to figure out what to do.
"Oh my god- I'm so sorry. I really didn't mean to, do you need some ice for .... it?" I asked , gesturing down to his crotch.
He slowly sat up, making eye contact with me while doing so, "No, you can kiss it better later." He said , smirking. My eyes opened wide, soaking up his words. And with that, he stood up , winked at me and walked off.
I looked around , noticing the crowd of people that had formed, watching my horrible situation.
So much for blending in, I mentally scolded myself.
